Warum Gäste es lieben

9.1367 Bewertungen
  • Killer location right on the Chao Phraya River near Phra Arthit pier
  • The rooftop pool has legitimate river views and a solid Mexican-inspired bar
  • Surrounded by Bangkok's best jazz bars and legendary street food

Kurzfassung: A stylish, art-filled crash pad that trades soundproofing and a gym for river views and street cred.

Bewertet von @BryanG5705151I checked into The StandardX and the vibe was instant cool. The lobby is an actual art gallery full of cool people. My room was minimalist but cozy, and stepping onto the balcony to see the Chao Phraya river lit up at night was the highlight. Perfect mix of party and peace.

Was Gäste, die hier übernachtet haben, sagten

The hype

Travelers love the design, the staff, and the artsy neighborhood vibe, but almost everyone mentions the noise.

Reality check

The 'Cozy' rooms are well-designed but can feel tight for two people with big luggage, and the lack of soundproofing is the number one gripe.

  • You thrive on Old Town culture and want to be near Khao San Road but not *in* it
  • You appreciate industrial-chic design and rotating art galleries in your lobby
  • You plan to use the river boats as your main transport

Vor der Buchung

Gut zu wissen

  • The hotel is brand new (opened late 2024), so everything feels fresh.
  • Breakfast is à la carte, not a massive buffet spread.
  • You are steps away from Phra Arthit Pier (N13), making boat travel super easy.

Was Sie einpacken sollten

  • High-quality earplugs (essential)
  • Slip-on shoes for easy temple hopping nearby
  • Modest clothing for visiting the nearby Grand Palace

Zimmer-Genie

Beste Auswahl

  • Deluxe King Riverview (worth the upgrade for the sunset view, despite the boat noise)
  • Top floor rooms to minimize overhead noise

Zimmer, die Sie meiden sollten

  • Connecting rooms (sound leakage is worse)
  • Rooms near the elevator

Zimmerwunsch-Genie – kopieren & einfügen

I would love a room on the highest possible floor, facing the river if possible. Please ensure it is NOT a connecting room, as I am a light sleeper.

FAQ & Geheimtipps

Alles, was Sie vor der Buchung wirklich wissen möchten.

Is there a gym?

No. There is no fitness center on-site. You'll need to run in the nearby park or find a local gym.

Is it near the BTS/MRT?

No. The Old Town is not well-connected to the skytrain. Your best bet is the Chao Phraya Express Boat or taxis.

Is the pool big enough for laps?

Not really. It's a plunge pool designed for dipping, sipping cocktails, and watching the river, not for serious swimming.

Can I park my car there?

No. There is absolutely no onsite parking. Guests often park at Wat Chana Songkhram nearby, which may charge a fee.

Is it family friendly?

It allows kids, but the vibe is definitely more adult/artsy. There are no kids' clubs or specific family amenities.

How much is the deposit?

Standard practice is around 1,000-2,000 THB per night held on a credit card.

Insider-Tipps

  • Walk 2 minutes to 'Jazz Happens' for incredible live music by Silpakorn University students.

  • Skip the hotel breakfast at least once to eat Roti Mataba (legendary stuffed roti) just down the street.

  • The '10 10 Art Space' in the lobby rotates exhibits; ask the staff about the current artist.

5 Dinge, die Sie wissen sollten, bevor Sie losfahren

  • 💡The 'StandardX' brand is a 'lite' version—don't expect the same level of service as the Standard Mahanakhon.

  • 💡The AC units can be surprisingly loud in some rooms.

  • 💡You have to pay for the snacks in the room (and they aren't cheap).

  • 💡Getting a taxi to agree to use the meter in this tourist-heavy area can be a battle.

  • 💡The river water looks muddy, but the sunset view over it is still world-class.
