Hvorfor folk elsker det

  • Walking distance to Kaseya Center and Frost Science Museum
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning Biscayne Bay views
  • Rooftop pool deck (when open) offers prime downtown skyline vibes

Hurtig oversigt: A visually striking downtown tower that is currently undergoing a confusing rebrand to 'The Grayson' and suffers from chronic elevator headaches.

Anmeldt af @amandasparklesI stayed in this spacious suite at The Gabriel and was blown away by the natural light. The balcony view over the museums and bay became my favorite morning coffee spot. It felt like a calm escape right in the middle of downtown Miami.

The hype

Views are incredible and the location is perfect for concerts or cruises, but the service is uneven and the elevators are a dealbreaker for many.

Reality check

The 'apartment-style' glass bathrooms often lack privacy (some have only sheer curtains), and highway noise from Biscayne Blvd is audible on lower floors.

  • You are seeing a concert at Kaseya Center (literally across the street)
  • You are boarding a cruise the next morning (port is 5 mins away)
  • You love modern, minimalist glass-box rooms with city views

Renhed & Vedligeholdelse

8.2
  • Housekeeping: Generally decent, though reports of missed restocking (towels/coffee) are common.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Modern and sleek, but the glass walls show every smudge and water spot.
  • Maintenance: The building shows wear—broken elevators are the main culprit, but scuffed paint and worn carpets in hallways are noted.
  • Linens & towels: Standard hotel quality, nothing ultra-luxe but clean and functional.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby is heavily perfumed; some rooms have reported lingering smoke smells despite being non-smoking.

  • Traffic noise from Biscayne Boulevard/I-395
  • Hallway noise due to long elevator waits causing congestion
  • Construction noise from nearby downtown developments

Før du booker

Godt at vide

  • The hotel is now 'The Grayson Miami' but may still appear as 'The Gabriel' on some old Hilton links or third-party sites.
  • Valet parking is expensive (~$45-50/night) and slow; consider using rideshare if you're just staying downtown.
  • The 'resort fee' (often ~$45) supposedly covers pool access and wifi, but check if it includes the shuttle to the beach (formerly a perk, now uncertain with rebrand).

Hvad skal du pakke

  • Earplugs for the highway noise
  • Patience for the elevators
  • A backup battery pack (in case you get stuck in the lobby waiting)

Værelses-genie

Bedste valg

  • Bay View Balcony rooms (high floors) for cruise ship watching
  • Corner Suites for dual-aspect views of the city and water

Værelser at undgå

  • City View rooms on lower floors (direct view of highway traffic)
  • Rooms near the elevator bank (noisy congregation point)

Værelses-anmodnings-genie – kopier og indsæt

I am requesting a high-floor Bay View room away from the elevators. Please confirm if the room has a solid bathroom door or just a curtain, as privacy is a priority.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål og skjulte tips

Alt hvad du gerne vil vide før du booker.

Is this hotel still a Hilton?

It's complicated. It has rebranded to 'The Grayson' and joined Small Luxury Hotels (SLH), which has a partnership with Hilton, but it is no longer a standard 'Curio Collection' property.

Is the pool open?

It varies. The 14th-floor pool deck has faced long-term closures. Call the front desk directly (ask for 'The Grayson') to confirm status for your specific dates.

How far is South Beach?

About a 10-15 minute drive across the MacArthur Causeway, depending on traffic. It is NOT walkable.

Can I walk to the cruise port?

It looks close, but you can't really walk it with luggage (highway/bridge). It's a 5-minute Uber/Taxi ride.

Is there a restaurant on site?

Yes, 'Grayson Kitchen' serves breakfast and dinner, and there is a pool bar. The former 'CVLTVRA' restaurant is closed.

Are the bathrooms private?

Not really. Many rooms feature glass-enclosed bathrooms with only sheer curtains, which can be awkward for friends or family sharing a room.

Insidertips

  • The Metromover (free automated train) station 'Museum Park' is practically right outside; use it to get to Brickell City Centre for free.

  • The 'Library Lounge' on the 3rd floor is a quiet, underused spot if you need to work and the lobby is chaotic.

  • If the hotel elevators are broken, ask staff if the service elevator is available—it's often faster than waiting for the main residential ones.

5 ting du bør vide før du tager af sted

  • 💡The hotel is actually just the first 15 floors of the 'Marquis Residences' condo tower.

  • 💡You have to walk outside around the pool deck to get to some rooms on the 14th floor.

  • 💡The 'City View' is often just a view of the I-395 overpass and traffic jams.

  • 💡The lobby scent is distinctively strong—some love it, some get headaches.

  • 💡Housekeeping can be hit-or-miss with restocking coffee pods and towels.
