Warum Gäste es lieben

9.4110 Bewertungen
  • The infinity pool overlooking paddy fields is arguably the best in Sri Lanka's hill country
  • Private waterfall hikes where you're the only one swimming
  • Total digital detox vibes with sounds of monkeys and birds replacing traffic

Kurzfassung: A stunningly remote jungle hideaway that forces you to relax, provided you can handle bugs, no A/C, and a bumpy arrival.

Bewertet von @liyah_fa_I stayed in the Forest Pavilion suite and it was unreal. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle with that misty mountain view right from my bed was the highlight of my Sri Lanka trip. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and just breathe.

Was Gäste, die hier übernachtet haben, sagten

The hype

Guests are universally blown away by the infinity pool views and the feeling of isolation, often calling it a 'magical' reset.

Reality check

The dinner menu can feel limited and 'Westernized' after a few days, and the open-air rooms aren't for the squeamish.

  • You crave absolute silence and nature sounds over nightlife
  • You're okay with 'glamping-style' luxury where nature gets in
  • You want a romantic, off-grid escape to read and swim

Sauberkeit & Instandhaltung

9
  • Housekeeping: Daily and thorough, but fighting a losing battle against nature (leaves, dust) in open rooms.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate stone and polished concrete, though open-air showers mean occasional leaves or bugs.
  • Maintenance: Rustic-chic condition; wood and stone are well-kept, but expect weathering.
  • Linens & towels: High-quality, crisp white linens that feel luxurious against the rustic setting.
  • Odors & scents: Smells of cinnamon, wet earth, and fresh jungle air. No chemical bleach smells here.

Zimmer-Genie

Beste Auswahl

  • Luxury Villa Suites for more enclosure, space, and a private courtyard
  • Forest Pavilions for the adventurous who want to sleep practically outside (mosquito nets provided)

Zimmer, die Sie meiden sollten

  • Forest Pavilions if you have a phobia of bugs or need absolute privacy (sound travels)

Zimmerwunsch-Genie – kopieren & einfügen

We are looking for a quiet stay—if possible, please assign a Villa Suite away from the main walkway for maximum privacy. We are celebrating and would love a room with the best mountain view.

FAQ & Geheimtipps

Alles, was Sie vor der Buchung wirklich wissen möchten.

Is there A/C in the rooms?

No. Rooms have ceiling fans and are designed with open airflow, which is usually sufficient but can feel sticky during peak humidity.

How bad are the bugs?

In the Forest Pavilions, they are your roommates. In the Villas, it's better, but you are in the middle of a jungle—ants and moths are inevitable.

Is the road really that bad?

Yes. It's a rough, unpaved track. A 4x4 or a tuk-tuk is best; low sedans might scrape the bottom.

Can I get dinner nearby?

No. You are miles from the nearest town. You will be eating all meals on the property.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, but mostly in the restaurant/main areas. It's often weak or non-existent in the remote Forest Pavilions.

Can I swim in the waterfall?

Yes, it's a private waterfall for guests, about a 45-minute guided hike from the hotel.

Insider-Tipps

  • Ask for the 'hopper' breakfast specifically—it's much better than the Western toast/eggs option.

  • The hotel provides a mobile phone at check-in to call staff since the rooms are so spread out.

  • Visit during the dry season (May-Sept) if you want a chance to see elephants migrating through the nearby corridor.

5 Dinge, die Sie wissen sollten, bevor Sie losfahren

  • 💡The monkeys are bold—they will enter your room if you leave food out.

  • 💡There are no room keys for some villas; it's that secluded and safe.

  • 💡You might find a frog in your open-air shower (it's a feature, not a bug).

  • 💡The 'gym' is just the jungle; there is no fitness center.

  • 💡Getting there from Ella involves a stunning but winding drive; motion sickness pills are a good idea.
