hi friends let's chat about my stay in Yountville but first let's get to know a little bit about me since we have so many new friends over here after my good, not great review I grew up in the Bay and I've lived in the city my entire adult life I am a geriatric millennial and NOT close to 50 I have a rescue dog named Buoy that I travel with 90% of the time and this hotel is dog friendly a little about the hotel this is the North Block Hotel in Yountville this tiny 20 room hotel is sophisticated yet comfortably chic and offers all the amenities you need for a wine country getaway this is content from a solo trip in December just me and the pup and when there's no one there to take my photo a selfie fit check video is what I do The Restaurant at North Block is a must visit whether you were staying at the hotel or not I spent a week in the Napa Valley in December visiting hotels and their restaurants and this tasting blew me away and finished at the top for me it is also important to note that they have happy hour every day from 3 - 5 my table peaked perfectly into the open kitchen concept an ideal situation for a solo diner looking for a show we kicked off the tasting menu with a scallop in a shell followed by the dish with the most dramatic presentation the gnocchetti with chanterelle mushrooms in a hickory butter sauce next up we had vermilion rock fish in a laksa broth every dish tasted just as good as it looked and we had the Flannery Farm New York strip steak this was a good looking piece of meat so good that I had to give you a close up and a little reaction guys this was a 10 out of 10 we finished this meal with a local cheese selection and I woke up in the morning to a complimentary mimosa and this very generous breakfast spread that's included in your stay I can't suggest North Block Hotel enough and I've stayed at every hotel in Yountville have you stayed here let me know
