Miksi ihmiset rakastuvat sitä

8.1182 arvosteluita
  • Located in the gated, peaceful Tankah Bay community (zero party noise)
  • Walking distance to Casa Cenote (Manatí Cenote) for incredible snorkeling
  • Free use of kayaks and paddleboards to explore the bay

Pikakatsaus: A peaceful bayfront sanctuary that is starting to show its age with tired rooms and inconsistent hot water, but the location saves it.

Arvioinut @sydney.muhandoI stayed here for a solo retreat and it was exactly the reset I needed. Waking up to the ocean breeze and spending afternoons in the hammock garden with a book was pure bliss. It’s quiet, intimate, and the food is incredibly fresh. Highly recommend for escaping the crowds.

The hype

Guests love the tranquility and the staff's warmth, but many feel the property is overpriced for its current 'worn' condition.

Reality check

The 'plunge pools' are often reported as dirty or stagnant, and ground-floor rooms struggle with dampness and bugs.

  • You are a family wanting a safe, quiet base near cenotes
  • You plan to rent a car and explore beyond the hotel zone
  • You prefer kayaking and paddleboarding over swimming in waves

Siisteys ja kunnossapito

6.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is consistent, but they often miss deep-cleaning tasks like dusting high shelves or under beds.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Major weak point. Reports of calcified showerheads, weak pressure, and inconsistent hot water are common.
  • Maintenance: Showing age. Peeling paint, rusted fixtures from sea air, and 'tired' furniture are frequently mentioned.
  • Linens & towels: Towels are often described as worn or 'scratchy' rather than plush.
  • Odors & scents: Ground floor rooms often have a lingering musty/damp smell due to the humidity and mangroves.

  • AC units can be rattly in older rooms

Ennen kuin varaat

Hyvä tietää

  • You absolutely need a rental car; taxis to Tulum town cost $30-50 USD one way.
  • The on-site restaurant 'BSky' is expensive ($20+ mains); buy snacks/drinks at a supermarket before arriving.
  • Tankah Bay is a gated community; you need your reservation confirmation to get past security.

Mitä pakata

  • Reef-safe sunscreen (strictly enforced at nearby cenotes)
  • Heavy-duty water shoes (the bay floor is rocky and sharp)
  • Biodegradable bug spray (you are near the mangroves)

Huone Genie

Parhaat valinnot

  • Rooftop Beach Front Suite (best views, most privacy)
  • Second-floor Ocean View rooms (better breeze, less damp than ground floor)

Huoneet, joita kannattaa välttää

  • Ground floor Garden View rooms (prone to musty smells and bugs)
  • Rooms with plunge pools (often reported as dirty/unusable)

I am looking forward to my stay. Please assign me a room on the SECOND FLOOR to ensure better airflow and privacy. I would specifically like to request a unit that has had its water heater recently serviced, as I have read recent reports about hot water issues. Please avoid placing me near the kitchen exhaust.

FAQ & Piilotut vinkit

Kaikki mitä haluat todella tietää ennen varaamista.

Is the beach swimmable?

Barely. It is very shallow, rocky, and often full of sea grass. It's better for kayaking than swimming.

Is there a resort fee?

No explicit daily resort fee, but a 10-15% service charge is often added to incidentals and food.

Can I walk to Tulum town?

No. It is a 15-minute drive on a highway. Walking is not safe or feasible.

Is breakfast included?

Usually yes, an a la carte American breakfast is included in most standard rates, but confirm at booking.

Is there reliable Wi-Fi?

It's decent (Starlink is becoming common in Tankah), but can be spotty during storms. Good enough for emails, risky for Zoom.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, it is very family-friendly and much safer for kids than the cliffside hotels in the main zone.

Sisäpiirin vinkit

  • Walk 5 minutes north to 'Casa Cenote' early in the morning (8 AM) to beat the tour crowds.

  • The hotel provides free kayaks; paddle out to the reef break for much better snorkeling than near the shore.

  • If the hotel food bores you, walk down the beach to Oscar & Lalo for a more rustic jungle vibe.

5 asiaa, jotka sinun pitää tietää ennen matkaasi

  • 💡The 'plunge pools' in some suites are often too cold or dirty to actually use.

  • 💡The shower pressure is notoriously weak, a common trade-off for the eco-location.

  • 💡You can hear the neighbors' plumbing in the garden view rooms.

  • 💡The 'private dock' is the best spot for sunrise yoga, but you have to bring your own mat.

  • 💡Room service adds a hefty surcharge and can be very slow.
