Agafay Luxury Camp

Broneeri, kui You want the 'Sahara experience' without the grueling 9-hour drive from Marrakech and demand a pool with your desert dunes.

Miks inimesed seda armastävad

8.3641 arvustused
  • Infinity pool with Atlas Mountain views that breaks Instagram
  • Private bathtubs on the terrace of luxury lodges
  • Only 45 minutes from Marrakech vs. 8+ hours to Merzouga

Kiire kokkuvõte: A photogenic 'desert-lite' glamping resort where you pay a premium for the views while being a captive audience for overpriced tagines.

Vaadanud @LuxuryTravelI’ve never felt more relaxed than I did soaking in this outdoor tub. Watching the colors of the Agafay Desert change at sunset was pure magic. It felt like I had the whole world to myself. If you need a mental reset, this is the place.

The hype

Guests are blown away by the sunset views and the staff's hospitality, often citing Zaynab and the team as highlights.

Reality check

The food is consistently flagged as 'mediocre' and 'overpriced' for what is essentially standard Moroccan fare.

  • You need a stunning backdrop for photos
  • You want a romantic disconnect with a private plunge pool
  • You are short on time and can't trek to the real Sahara

Puhtus ja hooldus

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is thorough, but fighting desert dust is a losing battle.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally clean, though 'loose toilet seats' and 'drainage issues' are occasional complaints.
  • Maintenance: Some wear and tear visible; construction debris noted on perimeter in late 2024.
  • Linens & towels: Egyptian cotton sheets are a high point; towels are standard hotel grade.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh air, occasional campfire smoke, or 'septic' whiffs if wind blows wrong.

Enne broneerimist

Head teada

  • Transfer from Marrakech costs ~€40-60 one way
  • Tourist tax is ~€0.52 per person/night
  • There is no ATM; bring cash for tips and small extras

Mida kaasa võtta

  • Earplugs (essential for tent sleeping)
  • Warm layers (desert temps drop 20°C+ at night)
  • Power bank (solar power can be finicky for charging)

Ruumi nõid

Parimad valikud

  • Executive Tent for a private plunge pool
  • Tent 6 for the best unobstructed canyon views
  • Lodge rooms for better insulation than canvas tents

Ruumid, mida vältida

  • Standard tents near the restaurant/pool hub (noise)
  • Tents near the construction perimeter (dust/noise)

Ruumi soovnimerja nõid – kopeeri ja kleebi

I would like to request a 'Canyon View' tent, specifically Tent 6 if available, as far away from the restaurant and kitchen noise as possible.

FAQ ja peidetud nipid

Kõik, mida tegelikult tahad teada enne broneerimist.

Is there alcohol?

Yes, they serve alcohol, but it is pricey (€14 beer, €20+ wine glass). BYOB is not officially encouraged but discreetly possible in your tent.

Is there AC/Heating?

Yes, tents have reversible air conditioning units, which are crucial for both scorching afternoons and freezing nights.

Can I walk to the lake?

No. Lalla Takerkoust lake is a drive away. The camp is isolated in the rocky desert.

Is the pool heated?

There are two pools; typically only the smaller one is heated, and even then, 'heated' can be hit-or-miss in winter.

Is the food included?

Breakfast is usually included. Lunch (~€30) and Dinner (~€35-40) are extra and fixed-menu style.

Is it the real Sahara?

No. It is a 'stone desert' (reg). You will see rocky dunes, not the endless soft sand waves (erg) of Merzouga.

Sisealased nõuanded

  • Book a 'day pass' for the pool if you don't want to pay the overnight premium.

  • The 'satellite internet' is spotty; download movies/music before you leave Marrakech.

  • Ask for the 'romantic dinner' setup in a private tent if you want to avoid the loud main dining tent.

5 asja, mida peaksid teadma enne reisimist

  • 💡The 'flies' can be intense during the day; it's a desert ecosystem.

  • 💡Water pressure in the 'multi-jet showers' fluctuates wildly.

  • 💡The 'luxury' tents are still canvas; they flap loudly in the wind.

  • 💡You can hear the 'quad bikes' from other camps buzzing in the distance.

  • 💡Lighting in the tents is dim (solar powered); hard to read a book at night.
