Astra Sky River Chiang Mai

Réservez si You want a viral rooftop infinity pool and modern condo living for a fraction of the price of a 5-star hotel.

Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

  • The 150-meter rooftop infinity pool (often compared to Marina Bay Sands)
  • Modern units with washing machines and kitchenettes
  • Walking distance to the Night Bazaar and 7-Eleven right across the street

En bref : This is a residential condo building where you rent units from individual owners, so expect zero hotel services like a front desk, bellboy, or daily housekeeping.

Évalué par @clahuynhI booked this spot for under 27€ and was blown away. The 150m rooftop pool is the longest in Chiang Mai, and the sunset views are unreal. Plus, the coworking space was a lifesaver for my meetings. It feels like stealing at this price point!

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

The pool view is world-class and the rooms are modern/clean, but the check-in process can be confusing.

Reality check

The pool area gets extremely crowded with influencers at sunset, and there are very few sun loungers (often only ~6 for the whole building).

  • You are a digital nomad needing strong Wi-Fi and a work desk
  • You prefer a self-sufficient stay with a washing machine and kitchen
  • You want luxury building amenities without the luxury hotel price tag

Propreté et entretien

9.2
  • Housekeeping: Non-existent during stay unless paid extra. You arrive to a clean room, but maintenance is on you.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally spotless and modern. Some reports of faint drain smells (common in Thai condos).
  • Maintenance: New building (opened ~2022), so fixtures are modern and in great condition.
  • Linens & towels: Hotel-quality white linens, but usually only one set provided per stay.
  • Odors & scents: Neutral/Fresh. No heavy chemical smells, but watch for cooking smells in hallways.

  • Hallway echoes from other guests
  • Occasional construction noise from nearby developing lots (daytime only)

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • Download the 'Grab' app for transport; taxis are harder to flag down here
  • Most units require a cash deposit (often 1,000-2,000 THB) upon arrival
  • 7-Eleven is directly across the street for all your water and snack needs

Quoi emporter

  • Pool towel (many hosts do not provide extra towels for the pool)
  • Universal travel adapter (though many units have USB ports)
  • Cash (THB) for the security deposit and local street food

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • West/Southwest facing units for sunset views over Doi Suthep mountain
  • High floor (10+) for reduced street noise and better privacy

Chambres à éviter

  • Lower floor units facing the main road (Chang Khlan) due to traffic noise
  • Units near the elevator banks if you are a light sleeper

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I would love a unit on a high floor (10+) facing West/Southwest towards Doi Suthep for the mountain sunset view. Please avoid units directly next to the elevator.

How far is the Old City?

About a 20-30 minute walk or a 10-minute Grab/tuk-tuk ride.

Is it pet friendly?

Generally no. Most listings strictly forbid pets, though some long-term owners may have exceptions.

Conseils d'initiés

  • The 'Wooden Door' cafe across the street serves excellent Eggs Benedict if you miss hotel breakfasts.

  • Walk 700m to 'Khlong Mae Kha' in the late afternoon—it's a newly revitalized canal village with a Japanese vibe and great photo ops.

  • The sauna and steam room are often empty even when the pool is crowded; bring your keycard to access them.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The 'Infinity Pool' is amazing but freezing cold (it is not heated).

  • 💡You might have to pay for your own electricity if you book a monthly stay (check the fine print).

  • 💡The elevators can be slow during sunset hours when everyone heads to the roof.

  • 💡Security guards can be strict about 'no food/drink' rules at the pool.

  • 💡The building entrance is set back from the road, so Grab drivers sometimes miss the turn.
