De ce o iubesc oamenii
Incredible Atlas Mountain views from the rocky dunes
Communal 'family style' vibe with nightly fires and music
Two photogenic pools (even if they are freezing)
Privire rapidă: A stunningly photogenic eco-camp that feels more like a high-end festival than a 5-star hotel—expect canvas walls, solar power quirks, and steep prices for isolation.
Evaluat de @riadlovers: I felt completely disconnected from the world here. Watching the sunset over the Agafay desert from the pool was a core memory unlocked. The vibe is pure bohemian luxury—perfect for just slowing down and breathing.

The hype
Guests are blown away by the sunset views and the friendly staff, but many feel the 'glamping' price tag doesn't match the rustic reality of unheated pools and pricey extras.
Reality check
The 'Explorer Tents' are significantly more rustic than the Lodges—think 'fancy camping' vs. 'hotel room with canvas walls.'
You're an influencer or creative looking for a visually perfect backdrop
You enjoy communal dining and meeting other travelers
You're okay with 'eco-luxury' (i.e., solar power limits, compost toilets in some units)
Curățenie și Întreținere

Housekeeping: Daily service is generally good, but sand is inevitable. Some complaints about 'missed spots' in canvas corners.
Bathroom hygiene: Lodges are pristine. Explorer Tent 'eco-toilets' can have odors if not serviced immediately.
Maintenance: Some 'wear and tear' reported on zippers and tent canvas. Solar lights can be dim/flickering.
Linens & towels: High quality, thick towels and crisp linens. Bedding is a strong point.
Odors & scents: Fresh desert air, occasional whiff of campfire or 'eco-toilet' depending on wind direction.

Bine de știut
This is a 'cashless' property but bring cash for tips.
The 'desert' here is rocky (stone desert), not the rolling sand dunes of the Sahara.
Water and alcohol are expensive; bring your own water if you have a transfer car.
Ce să împachezi
Power bank (solar power in rooms can be spotty for charging)
Warm layers (desert temps drop 30°F+ at night)
Earplugs (essential for tent sleeping)

Selecții de top
Dune Lodge or Desert Lodge: Essential for ensuite bathrooms, better insulation, and actual heating/cooling.
Tent 26: Mentioned by guests as being on the far edge for maximum privacy.
Camere de evitat
Explorer Tents in Summer/Winter: Lack of climate control makes them physically uncomfortable in extreme temps.
Tents near the main hub: Too much noise from the restaurant and bar.

“I am celebrating a special occasion and would love a room on the far edge of the camp (like Tent 26) for maximum quiet and unobstructed sunset views. Please ensure we are not directly next to the main pathway.”
Întrebări frecvente și sfaturi ascunse
Tot ceea ce vrei de fapt să știi înainte de a rezerva.
Is there Air Conditioning?
Only in the Lodges (Dune/Desert/Atlas). Explorer Tents do NOT have AC and get very hot in summer.
Are the pools heated?
No. Both pools are unheated. They are icy cold in winter and spring.
Is it suitable for kids?
Technically yes, but it has a very adult, 'chill' vibe. Kids might get bored, and the unheated pools are tough for little ones.
How do I get there?
It's a 45-minute drive from Marrakesh. The hotel shuttle is pricey (~650 MAD); a private taxi is often cheaper (~300-400 MAD).
Is the food good?
Generally praised as delicious but expensive. Breakfast is a highlight. Options can be limited for picky eaters.
Are there bugs?
Yes, it's the desert. You will see flies, beetles, and occasionally scorpions. Keep your tent zipped.
Sfaturi de Insider
✨
Book the 'Sunset Camel Ride' through a third party if you want to save money; hotel excursions have a high markup.
✨
The 'Cinema under the stars' is free and a highlight—ask for the schedule at check-in.
✨
Request a hot water bottle for your bed in winter; they usually provide them during turndown service.
5 lucruri pe care trebuie să le știi înainte să pleci
💡The 'eco-bathrooms' in Explorer Tents are essentially fancy chemical/compost toilets, not standard plumbing.
💡WiFi is spotty to non-existent in the far tents; you are forced to disconnect.
💡The 'shuttle' is often just a contracted taxi driver charging a premium rate.
💡You can hear the quad bikes from other camps buzzing around during the day.
💡Lighting in the tents is very dim (solar powered)—hard to read a book at night.
