  • Direct entrance to the Haram via Ajyad Street (no mall maze)
  • Kaaba views from upper floors are spiritually overwhelming
  • Piped-in Haram audio allows you to pray along from your room

Privire rapidă: A logistical masterpiece for pilgrims that trades boutique charm for massive scale and unbeatable proximity.

Evaluat de @zafir_syedI’ll never forget the moment I opened the curtains. Seeing the Kaaba right from my bed brought tears to my eyes. The room was spacious for my family, and the direct access to the Haram made our Umrah so much easier. Truly a blessed stay.

The hype

The location is the ultimate luxury here, saving your legs for Tawaf.

Reality check

The breakfast hall feels like a chaotic airport terminal at peak times.

  • You are traveling with elderly parents who can't walk far
  • You want to hear the Azan clearly in your room
  • You prefer a direct street exit over navigating a mall food court

Curățenie și Întreținere

8.8
  • Housekeeping: Daily and efficient, though they sometimes ignore 'Do Not Disturb' signs to ensure cleaning happens.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Sanitary but visually aged. Grout discoloration is common; showers are small but water pressure is good.
  • Maintenance: Generally solid, though some AC units rattle and carpets in hallways show high-traffic wear.
  • Linens & towels: Crisp and white, replaced aggressively (sometimes too often).
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells of expensive oud; hallways are neutral; some complaints of food smells near service lifts.

Înainte să rezervi

Bine de știut

  • There are TWO Swissotels in the complex: 'Makkah' and 'Al Maqam'. Ensure you booked the right one.
  • The 'Ajyad Street' entrance is a secret weapon for avoiding mall crowds.
  • Breakfast buffet serves over 2,000 people; go before 7am or after 9:30am to avoid the crush.

Ce să împachezi

  • Unscented soap/shampoo (for Ihram)
  • Universal power adapter (Type G is standard)
  • Thick socks for the marble floors of the Haram

Geniu pentru Cameră

Selecții de top

  • Premier Room with Kaaba View (Floor 47 is the 'level above' luxury tier)
  • Junior Suite for extra bathroom space

Camere de evitat

  • Classic Rooms with 'Partial View' (often just a view of a minaret or construction)
  • Rooms near the elevator banks on lower floors (high foot traffic)

Geniu pentru Cereri de Cameră – copiază și lipește

I am traveling for Umrah and requesting a room on a high floor (25+) away from the elevator bank. If possible, please ensure the Haram audio speaker in the room is functional.

Întrebări frecvente și sfaturi ascunse

Tot ceea ce vrei de fapt să știi înainte de a rezerva.

How close is the Haram entrance?

Extremely close. The private Ajyad Street entrance gets you to the King Abdul Aziz Gate in about 3-5 minutes walking.

Is there a pool?

No, there is no swimming pool. This is standard for most hotels in the Abraj Al Bait complex.

Do the elevators take forever?

Yes, during prayer times (20 mins before/after). Plan to leave your room 45 minutes before Salah to be safe.

Is breakfast included?

Usually yes, but check your specific rate. The buffet at Al Ruwad is massive but repetitive.

Can I hear the prayer in my room?

Yes, rooms are equipped with a dedicated audio system that pipes in live sound from the Haram.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the direct entrance to Ajyad Street is wheelchair friendly, avoiding some of the mall escalators.

Sfaturi de Insider

  • Use the 'Service Elevators' if the main banks are gridlocked (ask a bellman nicely).

  • The 'Partial Kaaba View' is often a letdown; save money with a City View or splurge for the full Kaaba View.

  • Cheap barbers are located in the basement levels of the mall, much cheaper than the hotel salon.

5 lucruri pe care trebuie să le știi înainte să pleci

  • 💡The 'Yellow Grout' Panic: The bathroom grout often looks yellow/discolored. It's usually clean, just aged.

  • 💡The P4 Transfer: You may need to take one elevator to floor P4, then walk to another bank to reach your room.

  • 💡The Shower Squeeze: Standard room showers are phone-booth tight. If you are large, book a suite.

  • 💡The AC Hum: Some rooms on the left wing suffer from constant vibration noise from the building's central cooling.

  • 💡The 'Swiss' Identity Crisis: Despite the name, the hospitality style is distinctly Saudi/Arabian, not European.
