Hotel Eagles Palace

$250-600/ notte

Prenota se You want a polished, old-money Greek resort experience where the beach is private, the kids are entertained by pros, and you don't mind splurging on a bungalow.

Perché piace così tanto

  • Private Blue Flag beach with waiter service (and free sunbeds)
  • Scott Dunn kids' club is legendary for actually engaging children
  • Rent-your-own-boat facility right on the beach for island hopping

In sintesi: It’s a 'Small Luxury Hotel' that feels surprisingly large, and unless you book a bungalow, you might be staring at a parking lot.

Recensito da @Snastya_uaI spent my days alternating between the sandy beach and my private pool. The resort feels incredibly high-end but peaceful. Waking up to that view of the bay was the highlight of my trip. It's the kind of place where you truly forget about the real world.

Cosa hanno detto gli ospiti che hanno soggiornato qui

The hype

Families adore the childcare and beach, couples love the sunset views from the bar, but everyone grumbles about the price of food and water.

Reality check

The 'Garden View' often means 'Road View' with idling bus noise in the mornings.

  • You have young kids but still want a sophisticated, non-Disney vacation
  • You love the idea of renting a small motorboat (no license needed) to find your own private cove
  • You appreciate a proper sandy beach over a rocky cliff jump

Pulizia e manutenzione

9.1
  • Housekeeping: Twice daily service is standard. Generally excellent, though some reports of missed balcony cleaning.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Spotless. Marble bathrooms are well-maintained, no mold issues reported.
  • Maintenance: Very good condition, though the main building is older than the Villas and shows minor signs of age.
  • Linens & towels: High quality, crisp white linens. Beach towels are plush and plentiful.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh sea breeze. No musty smells, though 'Garden' rooms can smell of pine (or exhaust if near road).

Prima di prenotare

Buono a sapersi

  • The hotel runs a shuttle to Ouranoupolis, but a taxi is cheap (~€15) and faster.
  • Men need a special permit months in advance to visit Mount Athos; women are strictly forbidden.
  • The 'Villas' have their own separate breakfast area which is quieter than the main hotel buffet.

Cosa portare

  • Mosquito repellent (gardens are lush, bugs are present)
  • Water shoes (some parts of the sea entry have pebbles/urchins)
  • A reusable water bottle (to fill from large jugs instead of buying small plastic ones)

Genio delle camere

Migliori scelte

  • Sea Front Bungalows (direct beach access, worth the upgrade)
  • Junior Suites with Sea View (good size for families, quiet side)
  • Grand Suite with Private Pool (if budget allows, total privacy)

Camere da evitare

  • Deluxe Double Garden View (often small, dark, or facing the road)
  • Rooms near the main elevator banks (noise travel)

Genio delle richieste camera – copia e incolla

I am looking forward to my stay. Please ensure I am assigned a room strictly AWAY from the main road and parking area to avoid morning traffic noise. If possible, I would prefer a room on a higher floor with an unobstructed sea view, not looking into the vegetation.

FAQ e consigli nascosti

Tutto ciò che vuoi davvero sapere prima di prenotare.

Is the beach sandy or rocky?

Mostly golden sand with some pebbles at the water's edge. It's Blue Flag certified and very clean.

Can I walk to the nearest town?

It's about 4km to Ouranoupolis. Not a pleasant walk due to the road lacking sidewalks; take the shuttle or a taxi.

Is the pool heated?

Yes, the outdoor pool is heated, which is a rare luxury in Greece and extends the season into May/October.

Are the Villas part of the main hotel?

Technically yes, but they are located on the hillside across the road, connected by a bridge. They feel like a separate resort.

Do I need a car?

Recommended if you want to explore Sithonia or other beaches, but not strictly necessary if you just want to relax and take the boat to islands.

Is tap water drinkable?

Safe to drink but tastes very salty/mineral-heavy. Most guests stick to bottled water.

Suggerimenti degli Insider

  • Skip the hotel lunch one day and rent a 30hp boat from the water sports center (no license needed) to picnic on Drenia Island.

  • The 'Armyra' restaurant is the best on-site dining—book a table for sunset right on the sand.

  • If you stay in the Villas, you can use all facilities of the main hotel, but main hotel guests can't always use the Villa pools.

5 cose da sapere prima di partire

  • 💡The 'Garden View' is a euphemism for 'Parking Lot View' in many standard rooms.

  • 💡Bird droppings on balconies can be an issue due to the lush trees; housekeeping is good but birds are relentless.

  • 💡The tap water is so mineral-rich it feels like brushing your teeth with sea water.

  • 💡You are literally on the border of a monastic republic; the vibe is serene but slightly isolated.

  • 💡The indoor pool is often empty and a great escape if the main pool gets too rowdy with kids.
