Hit or miss. It's on the Atlantic side, so water is rougher. Great for walking, often too choppy for leisurely swimming.

Surprisingly, yes. There's a kids' club, a massive pool, and they even let kids feed the koi fish.
Can I walk to restaurants?
Absolutely not. You are in a gated enclave. The nearest off-site food is a drive away.

Generally no, unless you have a specific package or Marriott Platinum+ status. The buffet is ~$52/person.
Are there bugs?
Yes. You are in a rainforest. Sand flies (no-see-ums) at the beach and mosquitoes are present, especially at dusk.
