Oleo Cancun Playa All Inclusive Boutique Resort

Pantaðu þetta ef You want a quiet, manageable all-inclusive that feels more like a small hotel than a sprawling mega-resort, and you don't mind some wear and tear.

Af hverju fólk elskar þetta

  • No wristbands required and no reservations needed for restaurants
  • The 'Brown Bag' coffee shop serves actual Starbucks-quality drinks (included)
  • Incredible oceanfront views from the pool and lobby due to the narrow property layout

Stutt samantekt: A 'boutique' facelift on an aging building that delivers great views and decent food, but struggles with humidity, maintenance, and a sketchy checkout 'smoking fee' policy.

Farið yfir af @topchicagoeatsMy stay here was pure bliss. The hydrotherapy circuit was the highlight—I spent hours just floating there. The view from my suite was incredible, just endless blue ocean. If you need a mental reset, this is the place.

The hype

Travelers love the intimate size and friendly staff (especially at Hakka), but are let down by the worn-out rooms and maintenance issues.

Reality check

The 'boutique' marketing hides an older structure with thin walls, peeling paint, and a struggle against the tropical climate.

  • You hate walking 20 minutes just to get to the buffet
  • You prioritize ocean views over modern furniture
  • You want a quiet pool deck without a foam party in sight

Hreinlæti og viðhald

6
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is generally good, but they fight a losing battle against humidity.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Grout often shows signs of mildew; layouts can be 'non-functional' with leaks.
  • Maintenance: The building is tired. Peeling paint, broken elevator buttons, and the infamous 'sinking ceiling' leaks.
  • Linens & towels: Towels can be scratchy and worn. Bedding is clean but basic.
  • Odors & scents: Strong 'cover-up' scent in lobby; rooms often smell musty/damp.

Gott að vita

  • There are NO reservations required for dinner, which is a huge perk for an all-inclusive.
  • The 'Inspira' upgrade gets you a roped-off beach section, but the standard beach area is fine for most.
  • Room service is 24 hours and included, but delivery can be slow during peak times.

Hvað á að pakka

  • DampRid or moisture absorbers for the closet (seriously, it helps)
  • Earplugs if you end up on the lagoon/street side
  • Small bills (USD or Pesos) for tipping the excellent staff

Herbergis-Genie

Bestu val

  • Standard King 180° View (10th floor) for the best panoramic ocean/lagoon views
  • Oceanfront rooms on floors 4-8 for a balance of view and minimizing roof leak risks

Herbergi til að forðast

  • Ground floor rooms (higher risk of musty smells and bugs)
  • Lagoon View rooms (face the busy Blvd Kukulcan street = traffic noise)

Herbergisbeiðna-Genie – afrita og líma

I am requesting a room on a high floor (5th-9th) facing the OCEAN side. Please avoid the ground floor and lagoon-facing rooms due to noise and humidity sensitivities. If available, a room away from the elevators would be appreciated.

Algengar spurningar og falin ábendingar

Allt sem þú vilt vita áður en þú bókar.

Is the 'Inspira' upgrade worth it?

Mostly no. Unless you absolutely need the premium alcohol brands or the specific 'Inspira' beach cabanas, the standard experience is very similar.

Is the beach swimmable?

Yes, but it can be rough. Red flags are common. The beach is beautiful white sand, but water conditions vary.

How far is the nightlife?

You are at Km 19.5, which is the quiet south end. The main party zone (Coco Bongo, etc.) is at Km 9.5, about a 15-20 minute bus or taxi ride.

Are there hidden fees?

Besides the standard environmental tax (~$4-5 USD/night), watch out for the 'smoking fee' scam mentioned in warnings. Check your bill before you leave the desk.

Is it adults-only?

No, but it feels like it. There are very few facilities for kids, so families rarely book here. It's 90% couples.

How is the WiFi?

Surprisingly good. Works well in rooms and even extends to parts of the beach.

Innherja ábendingar

  • The 'Brown Bag' cafe opens at 6am—get there early for the freshest pastries before they sit out.

  • Walk 5 minutes south to 'Navios' for a romantic sunset dinner on the lagoon (not included, but worth paying for).

  • The Japanese restaurant 'Hakka' has the best food on the property—try the pork ribs.

5 hlutir sem þú ættir að vita áður en þú ferð

  • 💡The 'tennis court' is often just a concrete slab with a net—don't plan your Wimbledon training here.

  • 💡You can actually see the ocean from the lobby the moment you walk in—a rare design feature in Cancun.

  • 💡The elevators are a constant source of frustration; you will likely end up walking up/down stairs.

  • 💡There is a 'scent' pumped into the lobby that some find pleasant and others find overpowering/chemical.

  • 💡The pool is smaller than it looks in photos—chair hogging starts at 7am sharp.
