  • Maria Dolores: A Michelin-recommended dining experience rare for all-inclusives
  • The 'Barefoot Luxury' vibe that balances high-end service with zero pretension
  • Technogym-equipped fitness center that actually makes you want to work out

Snel Overzicht: A stunning, modern resort where the food is actually good, but you'll need to fight the app to book it.

Beoordeeld door @travelagentwithoutborders: I was blown away by the sheer size of this terrace! Having my own private pool overlooking the ocean was the highlight of the trip. The design is stunning, and the El Cielo access made the stay feel extra exclusive. Definitely the most romantic spot I've visited.

The hype

Guests are obsessed with the design, the scent of the lobby, and the staff's genuine warmth.

Reality check

The 'reservation game' for dinner is the #1 complaint, with slots filling up days in advance.

  • You appreciate modern Mexican architecture and local art over generic tropical decor
  • You are a foodie willing to pay extra for one truly exceptional meal (Maria Dolores)
  • You prefer a high-energy main pool but want a dead-silent room at night

Schoonmaak & Onderhoud

9
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is consistent and thorough; evening turndown is a nice touch.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate. Marble surfaces are well-maintained, though open layout requires comfort with roommates.
  • Maintenance: Excellent. The property is relatively new (opened 2019) and shows very little wear.
  • Linens & towels: High thread count, crisp, and plentiful. Pool towels are large and fluffy.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby has a signature 'wood and citrus' scent that guests love; occasional swamp smell outside.

Voordat je boekt

Goed om te weten

  • Download the Atelier app immediately upon booking to familiarize yourself with menus.
  • The 'Inspira' upgrade gets you access to a rooftop pool and better beach beds—often worth it for peak season.
  • Men need long pants and closed-toe shoes for several dinner restaurants.

Wat je mee moet nemen

  • Dressy resort wear (strict dress codes for dinner)
  • Insulated cup (bartenders will fill it to keep drinks cold at the pool)
  • Small bills (USD) for tips—staff prefer dollars over pesos

Kamer Genie

Beste keuzes

  • Inspira Ocean Front (Building 1) for the best unobstructed views
  • Rooftop Suites for massive private terraces and plunge pools
  • Building 3 for maximum quiet (furthest from the main pool and lobby)

Kamers om te vermijden

  • Rooms 2205-2215 (Directly under the gym—noisy from 6 AM)
  • Rooms 2395-2399 (Directly above the nightclub/theater)
  • Ground floor swim-out suites if you value privacy (the 'river' is a narrow channel past neighbors)

Kamer Aanvraag Genie – kopiëren en plakken

I am requesting a room on a high floor in Building 3 for quiet, or an Ocean View suite in Building 1. Please strictly avoid rooms 2205-2215 near the gym and 2395-2399 near the theater.

Veelgestelde vragen & Verborgen tips

Alles wat je eigenlijk wilt weten voordat je boekt.

Is the hotel actually on Isla Mujeres?

No. It is on the mainland (Playa Mujeres). You need to take a ferry to visit the island.

Is the Inspira upgrade worth it?

Yes, if you want guaranteed access to the rooftop pool (El Cielo) and prime beach cabanas without waking up at 7 AM.

Can I swim in the ocean?

Technically yes, but it's often shallow, grassy, and prone to sargassum. Most guests stick to the pools.

Is the food actually good?

Yes, significantly better than average AIs. Maria Dolores is legitimate fine dining (extra cost).

Are reservations required for dinner?

Yes, for almost all à la carte restaurants. Book them via the app or concierge the moment you arrive.

Is it pet friendly?

Yes, for dogs up to 10kg (22lbs) via the 'Pet-It' program. $50/night fee applies.

Tips van Insiders

  • The 'taco cart' near the main pool often serves better food than the sit-down lunch spots.

  • You can order room service via the TV—it's surprisingly fast and the menu is extensive.

  • Building 3 has its own 'quiet pool' that is often empty while the main pool is packed.

5 dingen die je moet weten voordat je gaat

  • 💡The 'smell' near the mangroves/beach can be swampy depending on the wind direction.

  • 💡The 'Swim Out' rooms are less 'private pool' and more 'shared canal' with your neighbors.

  • 💡You will be pitched a timeshare/vacation club membership (Inspira) aggressively at check-in—be firm.

  • 💡The bathroom layout is open-concept with sliding doors that don't offer 100% sound privacy.

  • 💡Room service breakfast is excellent but can take 45+ minutes during peak hours (8-10 AM).
