Our anniversary stay at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes was the definition of a romantic escape. From the moment we checked in, the oceanfront views from our balcony set the tone for a relaxing weekend. The resort grounds are massive and beautifully manicured, offering plenty of space to find a quiet spot. We loved that we didn't need to leave the property to have a great time; we spent our days walking the scenic coastal trails down to the cove beach and kayaking in the ocean. The dining was a highlight, especially the casual al fresco lunch with tacos and nachos overlooking the water, and the fluffy pancakes at Catalina Kitchen for breakfast. Evenings were spent cozying up by the fire pits, which gave the whole trip a warm, intimate vibe. If you are looking for a luxury resort in Southern California that feels secluded but has every amenity you could want—from a world-class spa to incredible dining—this is the spot.
