Hvorfor folk elsker det

  • The 'River Pool' with its 7-meter waterslide is legendary among families
  • Pet-friendly policy with no weight limit is a rarity for luxury resorts here
  • Direct access to Cicada Market (3-min walk) makes weekend dinners effortless

Hurtig oversigt: A sprawling, reliable resort that nails the family vacation vibe but is starting to show its age with some musty corners and construction noise near the spa.

Anmeldt af @nawfanurieI felt like royalty staying in The Barai suites here. The architecture is stunning—endless red corridors and secret gardens. Waking up to that ocean view and wandering the spa grounds was the perfect escape. Definitely splurge for the suite if you love design.

The hype

Families adore the pool and location, but couples often find it too chaotic and the rooms a bit dated.

Reality check

Ground floor rooms often suffer from a persistent 'damp' or musty smell due to the humidity and age of the building.

  • You are traveling with kids who need a waterslide to survive
  • You are bringing a dog (no weight limit!)
  • You want to walk to the best weekend markets without needing a taxi

Renhed & Vedligeholdelse

8.2
  • Housekeeping: Diligent and friendly, but fighting a losing battle against tropical humidity in ground-floor rooms.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally clean grout and sparkling glass, but drains can occasionally emit a 'sewer' smell after heavy rain.
  • Maintenance: Gardens are manicured to perfection. Rooms show wear—scuffed furniture and aging AC units are common.
  • Linens & towels: Standard Hyatt quality—crisp and white, though pool towels can sometimes feel a bit thinned out from overuse.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells of fresh jasmine; some rooms have a lingering musty/damp scent that requires airing out.

  • Construction machinery near The Barai wing (until late 2026)
  • High-pitched excitement from the pool slide area
  • Thin connecting doors in some standard rooms

Før du booker

Godt at vide

  • Breakfast is expensive (~1,200 THB/person) if not included in your rate
  • The 'resort fee' is effectively the standard 10% service charge + 7% VAT
  • Valet parking is free, but self-parking can get tight on weekends

Hvad skal du pakke

  • Mosquito repellent (gardens are lush and buggy at dusk)
  • Rash guard or stinger suit (jellyfish protection for ocean swimming)
  • Earplugs (if you end up near the construction zone)

Værelses-genie

Bedste valg

  • Regency Club Rooms (upper floors) for better airflow and renovated interiors
  • Barai Suites if you want total seclusion away from the main resort chaos

Værelser at undgå

  • Ground floor Standard Rooms (often cited for musty/damp smells)
  • Rooms nearest to the Barai construction site (ask for the 'North Wing' or 'Main Wing' to be safe)

I am sensitive to mold and construction noise. Please assign a room on an upper floor, as far as possible from The Barai construction zone, and ensure it has been recently aired out.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål og skjulte tips

Alt hvad du gerne vil vide før du booker.

Is the beach swimmable?

Sometimes. It's shallow and warm, but prone to jellyfish (especially in rainy season) and disappears at high tide. Horses on the beach also mean watching your step.

Is the pool heated?

No, but in Thailand's heat, you won't want it to be. The water is generally refreshing to warm.

How bad is the construction noise?

It varies. If you are at the main pool or in the North Wing, it's negligible. If you are in a room near the Spa/Barai side, you will hear drilling and machinery during the day.

Is it really pet friendly?

Yes, surprisingly so. They allow dogs with no weight limit in designated Deluxe rooms for ~1,000 THB/night. However, pets aren't allowed in the pool or restaurants.

Is the Club Lounge worth it?

Yes. It offers a private pool, evening cocktails, and a quieter breakfast experience away from the chaotic main buffet.

Can I walk to town?

Not really. The main Hua Hin town/Night Market is a 10-15 min drive. But you can walk to Cicada and Tamarind markets (weekend evenings only).

Insidertips

  • Walk 5 minutes south along the beach to find local massage ladies under the trees for 1/5th the price of the hotel spa.

  • The 'Tamarind Market' (next to Cicada) has better, cheaper food and live music—locals prefer it over the more touristy Cicada.

  • Use the 'Hyatt E-Concierge' to request a dehumidifier for your room before arrival if you have allergies.

5 ting du bør vide før du tager af sted

  • 💡The 'lazy river' isn't actually a lazy river—there is no current pushing you; you have to swim it.

  • 💡The horses on the beach leave 'gifts' in the sand that aren't always cleaned up immediately.

  • 💡The water slide has a strict 'one person at a time' rule that staff actually enforce, so no tandem sliding with toddlers.

  • 💡Room service pizza at Figs is surprisingly excellent (wood-fired oven).

  • 💡The 'Pet Friendly' rooms are in a specific block, so if you don't like dogs, you likely won't see them near your room anyway.
