Hvorfor folk elsker det

9.837 anmeldelser
  • The only resort in the Laamu Atoll, offering unmatched seclusion
  • World-class surfing at the Yin Yang break just minutes away
  • The 'No Shoes, No News' policy is strictly enforced and instantly relaxing

Hurtig oversigt: It is a pain to get to (domestic flight + boat), but the isolation and rustic-chic vibe are genuinely worth the travel hangover.

Anmeldt af @_adiivaaI stayed at Six Senses Laamu and it was paradise. Waking up in that canopy bed and having breakfast right by the water was unreal. The beach is literally steps away and the water is crystal clear.

The hype

Reviewers universally adore the 'GEM' (butler) service and the high-quality organic food, often calling it the best breakfast in the Maldives.

Reality check

The rustic aesthetic is real—wood weathers, decks get wet/slippery, and it feels more like a luxury treehouse than a polished marble palace.

  • You are a surfer or diver looking for uncrowded waves and reefs
  • You appreciate eco-luxury where plastic is banned and food is grown on-site
  • You want to ride a personalized bicycle barefoot through the jungle to dinner

Renhed & Vedligeholdelse

9.6
  • Housekeeping: Impeccable twice-daily service. They even wipe down your bicycle seat.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Spotless, though the open-air design means leaves or sand can blow in shortly after cleaning.
  • Maintenance: Rustic wood is intentionally weathered but structurally sound. Decks are scrubbed daily.
  • Linens & towels: High-thread-count organic cotton, always fresh and crisp.
  • Odors & scents: Smells of lemongrass, ocean breeze, and fresh vegetation. No chemical bleach smells.

Godt at vide

  • The resort runs on 'island time' which is 1 hour ahead of Male time to give you more daylight.
  • Half-board ($148/adult) or Full-board ($222/adult) plans are worth it given the high à la carte prices.
  • Green Tax increased to $12 per person per day as of Jan 2025.

Hvad skal du pakke

  • Rash guard for snorkeling (sun is intense)
  • Reef-safe sunscreen (strictly enforced)
  • Absolutely no heels—you will be barefoot or in flip-flops 24/7

Værelses-genie

Bedste valg

  • Laamu Water Villas (end of jetties) for maximum privacy and uninterrupted sunset views
  • Ocean Beach Villas for the best sand and swimming (no seaweed)
  • Jetty C Water Villas for the most seclusion, though it's a longer bike ride to breakfast

Værelser at undgå

  • Lagoon Beach Villas if you dislike seaweed/seagrass in the water
  • Start of Jetty A Water Villas if you want total privacy (snorkelers pass by)
  • Villas near the main arrival jetty if boat engine noise bothers you

Værelses-anmodnings-genie – kopier og indsæt

I am requesting a Sunset Laamu Water Villa at the end of the jetty for maximum privacy. Please ensure we are NOT placed in a Lagoon Beach Villa due to the seagrass, and avoid the start of Jetty A to minimize snorkeler traffic near our deck.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål og skjulte tips

Alt hvad du gerne vil vide før du booker.

How much is the transfer?

Approximately $725-$800 per adult for the roundtrip domestic flight and speedboat. 'VIP' seaplane charters are available for $1,200+ but rare.

Is the water safe to drink?

Yes, the resort produces its own still and sparkling water on-site, provided complimentary in glass bottles.

Are there mosquitoes?

Yes, it's a jungle island. They fog regularly, but bring repellent for the open-air bathrooms and outdoor dining.

Can I see dolphins?

Frequently. A pod often passes by the Chill Bar at sunset, and the dolphin cruise has a very high success rate.

Is there a house reef?

Yes, and it's spectacular. Accessible from the Chill Bar or Jetty A, featuring turtles, reef sharks, and eagle rays.

Do I need to book restaurants in advance?

Yes, especially for Leaf (the signature organic restaurant) and special events like the Lobster BBQ.

Insidertips

  • Free ice cream (42 flavors) is available all day at 'Ice'—don't be shy.

  • Ask for a villa on the 'Sunset' side of the jetty even if you book a standard water villa; the light is better.

  • The 'Jungle Cinema' screens movies with popcorn and prosecco, often private if no one else books.

5 ting du bør vide før du tager af sted

  • 💡The domestic flight can be a cramped, sweaty experience compared to a direct seaplane.

  • 💡You might find a crab or gecko in your open-air shower—it's their home too.

  • 💡The 'Lagoon' side is intentionally kept full of seagrass to feed the resident turtle population.

  • 💡Bicycles have personalized wooden tags with your initials—a small but charming touch.

  • 💡During high tide or storms, the waves under the Ocean Water Villas can be loud enough to shake the floor.
