If you need a last minute spring break idea that's easy, listen up. We ditched the freezing cold for Southern Florida and it was unexpectedly one of our favorite family trips. We checked into the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. It's a short drive from the airport with a gorgeous lobby and spacious rooms. It's got that classic slightly vintage charm and was perfect for our family of four with incredible ocean views. Mornings were spent on the balcony with coffee then we shifted down to the veranda for mimosas and breakfast while the kids hunted for iguanas. Honestly, I could have stayed on this veranda all day and been happy. The hotel is worth it for this spot alone. By night, we hopped on the water taxi into town cruising past those iconic mansions to hit Los Olas Boulevard for some shopping. Dinner was at Luigi's Coal Oven Pizza followed by a mountain of gelato and then the next morning was all about more beach and pool time to soak up every second of sun. With our fair share of pina coladas. Next, we headed to Marina Village. We grabbed some famously overpriced lobster rolls and hopped on a Catamaran excursion for a sunset, you have to see to believe.
