Por qué a la gente le encanta

9.24 reseñas
  • Jaw-dropping views of Poppi Castle and the Casentino Valley
  • Unique 'glamping' options like transparent bubbles and luxury treehouses
  • Massive grounds with two scenic outdoor pools that never feel crowded

Resumen rápido: It's a sprawling, self-catering nature retreat, not a full-service hotel—so bring a car and don't expect room service.

Reseñado por @michaelacarrot: I honestly felt like a character in a storybook staying here. The way the light hits the glass at sunset is unreal, and waking up surrounded by trees was the most peaceful experience of my life. A total bucket list stay.

Lo que dijeron los huéspedes que se hospedaron aquí

The hype

Guests are obsessed with the magical views and the 'peaceful escape' vibe, often calling it a paradise for recharging.

Reality check

The lack of air conditioning in the older stone villas and the steep walking paths catch many travelers off guard.

  • You dream of sipping wine in a private garden with a view
  • You are independent travelers who like to cook or explore local dining
  • You want a romantic, unconventional stay (treehouse/bubble)

Limpieza y Mantenimiento

9.6
  • Housekeeping: On request only (extra fee). You arrive to a clean room, but don't expect daily turnover unless you pay.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate. Guests consistently rate cleanliness as the property's strongest point.
  • Maintenance: Excellent. Grounds are manicured, pools are sparkling. Rustic features are intentional, not neglect.
  • Linens & towels: Fresh and high quality, though pool towels may incur a rental fee.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh forest air and lavender. No musty smells reported despite the age of buildings.

Antes de reservar

Es bueno saberlo

  • The 'Spa' is private-hire only (2-hour blocks) and must be booked in advance
  • Grocery stores in Poppi close around 1pm and reopen late afternoon—plan supplies accordingly
  • Check-in is strictly 3pm-7pm; late arrivals can be tricky without prior arrangement

Qué llevar

  • Mosquito repellent (essential for Tuscan summers)
  • Sturdy walking shoes for the steep paths
  • Pool towel (rentals may cost extra)
  • US/EU power adapter (outlets can be scarce in older stone walls)

Genio de Habitaciones

Mejores opciones

  • Treehouse 'Nido' for the ultimate romantic, secluded view (no kitchen)
  • Villa Chimera for families needing space and a private pool feel
  • Suites 'Sole' or 'Luna' for couples who want modern amenities and AC

Habitaciones a evitar

  • Upper-level apartments if you hate climbing hills
  • Standard apartments in July/August if you absolutely require AC

We are looking for a quiet unit with the best possible view of Poppi Castle. If possible, we would prefer a unit with air conditioning or excellent cross-ventilation.

Preguntas frecuentes y consejos ocultos

Todo lo que realmente quieres saber antes de reservar.

Is there air conditioning?

Mostly no. The Suites and Bubbles have it, but the traditional stone apartments rely on fans and thick walls. It gets cool at night, but July afternoons can be warm.

Is breakfast included?

No. There is no restaurant. You can order a breakfast basket or grocery delivery, but most guests buy their own supplies in Poppi.

Is the pool heated?

The main outdoor pools are NOT heated and are open May-September. The small indoor pool in the private spa is heated.

Can I walk to town?

Technically yes, but it's a steep 3km hike back up. You really need a rental car here.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, in most apartments (fee applies). However, pets are NOT allowed in the Treehouse or Bubble rooms.

Is there a gym?

No traditional gym. They offer yoga classes on request and there are plenty of hiking/biking trails.

Consejos de Insiders

  • Book the private spa slot for sunset—the view from the relaxation area is unmatched.

  • Ask for the 'Chef at Home' service for at least one dinner; it's often better than local restaurants.

  • Drive 5 minutes to the 'Pratello' in Poppi (top of the town) for the best sunset aperitivo with locals.

5 cosas que debes saber antes de ir

  • 💡The WiFi signal struggles to penetrate the thick stone walls of the older villas.

  • 💡You might hear wolves howling at night (the Casentino forests are full of them).

  • 💡The 'heating' in winter is often charged as an extra fee based on consumption.

  • 💡The drive up to the property involves some tight, winding Tuscan roads.

  • 💡There are no elevators, even in multi-story buildings.
