Furama Villas & Spa Ubud, Bali

$130-260/ nuit

Réservez si You want a private pool villa for under $200 and plan to never leave the property except for a scheduled shuttle.

Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

  • Massive private pools in the villas (much larger than typical plunge pools)
  • Dead silent location in the middle of Mambal rice paddies
  • Premier Rooms offer a modern, renovated experience for a lower price

En bref : A fading beauty that offers incredible value for hermits but feels isolated and tired if you look too closely at the furniture.

Évalué par @Gaskham : I stayed in the Lagoon Access Villa and it was pure magic. Waking up to that view and jumping straight into the water was the highlight of my Bali trip. It’s incredibly peaceful and the perfect escape from the crowds. 10/10 would recommend for couples.

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

Guests love the massive bathtubs and private pools but consistently complain about the aging furniture and isolation.

Reality check

The 'resort' feel is dampened by the fact that the main pool bar is often unstaffed and the on-site restaurant is overpriced and mediocre.

  • You are on a budget honeymoon and want a private pool villa
  • You are terrified of traffic noise and want absolute rural silence
  • You are comfortable using Grab/Gojek for food delivery

Propreté et entretien

6.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is consistent, but they often miss dust in high corners and under the heavy wooden furniture.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Bathtubs are huge but often have stained grout. Open-air design means leaves and bugs are always present.
  • Maintenance: The biggest weak point. Peeling paint, rusted gate hinges, and loose floorboards are common in the older villas.
  • Linens & towels: Towels are often described as 'grey' or 'worn' rather than fluffy white. Sheets are generally clean.
  • Odors & scents: Older villas have a distinct 'musty wood' smell mixed with dampness from the rice fields.

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • Download the Grab or Gojek app immediately; it's your only lifeline for affordable food delivery.
  • The 'Lagoon' is a shared pool that snakes through the property; Lagoon Access rooms open directly onto it.
  • Breakfast is often described as 'cold' or 'limited' — don't pay extra for it if you can avoid it.

Quoi emporter

  • Strong mosquito repellent (open-air bathrooms = mosquito buffet)
  • Bluetooth speaker (rooms lack modern sound systems)
  • Snacks/Cup Noodles (no convenience store within walking distance)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Premier Room (renovated in 2019, modern, clean, no open-air bug issues)
  • Lagoon Pool Access Villa (direct access to the massive shared lagoon, brighter interiors)

Chambres à éviter

  • Standard Deluxe Pool Villas near the lobby (most worn, darkest interiors, often have musty smells)

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I am requesting a 'Premier Room' or a recently renovated villa. Please ensure the room is away from the main reception for privacy and has been checked for AC functionality.

FAQ et astuces cachées

Tout ce que vous voulez vraiment savoir avant de réserver.

Is it really in Ubud?

No. It is in Mambal, about 8km (25 mins) south of the Ubud Palace. You cannot walk to Ubud.

Is the shuttle free?

Yes, it runs 5 times daily, but the last return is early (around 6:15 PM).

Are the pools private?

Yes, Deluxe and Royal Villas have fully private walled pools. Lagoon Villas have private dip pools that connect to the shared lagoon.

Can I walk to restaurants?

Practically, no. The road is dark, narrow, and lacks sidewalks. You are captive to the hotel or delivery.

Is there room service?

Yes, 24-hour room service is available, but reviews cite it as overpriced and 'tasteless'.

Are there bugs in the room?

Yes. The traditional villas have open-air components. You will see geckos, frogs, and ants. It's part of the 'charm'.

Conseils d'initiés

  • Order food via Grab/Gojek; drivers can find the lobby easily and it's 70% cheaper than the hotel restaurant.

  • The 'Royal Pool Villas' are actually two separate villas in one compound—perfect for two couples traveling together.

  • Ask for a villa in the 'FuramaXclusive' wing rather than the 'Furama Villas' wing for slightly more modern fittings.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The 'River Rafting' start point is very close nearby; you can often book cheaper tours that start right from Mambal.

  • 💡The main lagoon pool water can sometimes be murky due to the natural spring water source—it's not dirty, just mineral-heavy.

  • 💡There is a 'kettle misuse' issue noted in reviews (guests boiling noodles), so check your kettle before using.

  • 💡The lighting in the older villas is incredibly dim; it's hard to read a book at night.

  • 💡You can hear the neighbors in the Lagoon Access villas because the water carries sound perfectly.
