  • The Dar El Bacha location is safe, upscale, and walkable to everything
  • Jean-Claude and the staff treat guests like visiting royalty
  • The rooftop terrace is a botanical maze of private nooks and sunbeds

Tóm tắt nhanh: A stunningly photogenic labyrinth that feels more like a wealthy artist's home than a hotel, but don't expect a heated pool or a stiff drink at the bar.

Được đánh giá bởi @clahuynhI found the ultimate hideaway in the Medina. After walking the souks all day, floating in this courtyard pool felt like heaven. The tile work is stunning, and it’s so quiet you forget the city is right outside. Truly felt like my own private palace.

Khách Đã Ở Đây Nói

The hype

Guests universally adore the staff and the 'secret garden' vibe, often calling it their favorite stay in Morocco.

Reality check

Sound travels effortlessly through the courtyard—if someone is having breakfast at 8 AM, you are also having breakfast at 8 AM.

  • You love cats (they are everywhere and very friendly)
  • You want to be near the best shopping (Dar El Bacha) but away from the chaos of the main square
  • You appreciate rustic, hand-crafted imperfections over sterile luxury

Vệ sinh & Bảo dưỡng

  • Housekeeping: Impeccable. Daily service is thorough, and they even tidy up your scattered belongings.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Tadelakt (polished plaster) bathrooms are spotless, though drains can sometimes be slow (common in old medinas).
  • Maintenance: Generally good, though expect some 'charming' wear and tear like creaky doors or loose tiles.
  • Linens & towels: Fresh and crisp, though towels can be on the stiffer side (sun-dried).
  • Odors & scents: Smells of orange blossom and amber, no mustiness detected.

Trước khi đặt phòng

Thông tin hữu ích

  • City tax is ~26 MAD (~$2.60) per person/night and often payable in cash upon arrival
  • Airport transfer via the riad (approx. 15-20 EUR) is highly recommended as the medina maze is impossible for first-timers
  • Breakfast is included and served 8:30-10:30 AM

Cần mang những gì

  • Warm pajamas and thick socks (if visiting Nov-March, rooms get chilly)
  • Earplugs (essential for sleeping past 8 AM)
  • Duty-free wine/spirits (if you want a drink, you must bring it yourself)

Lựa chọn hàng đầu

  • Suite Chiba (Upper floor, private terrace access, more privacy)
  • Suite Taroubia (Mezzanine level, private lounge, feels like a mini-apartment)

Phòng nên tránh

  • Room Narjisse (Ground floor, opens directly to courtyard, zero privacy)
  • Any ground floor room if you are a light sleeper

Genie Yêu Cầu Phòng – sao chép & dán

I am looking forward to my stay. If possible, please assign a room on an upper floor (like Chiba or Taroubia) to avoid courtyard noise. We would prefer to avoid ground floor rooms like Narjisse.

FAQ & Những mẹo ẩn

Mọi thứ bạn thực sự muốn biết trước khi đặt phòng.

Is there a pool?

Yes, two. One small plunge pool in the courtyard and one on the roof. Both are unheated and purely for cooling off in summer heat.

Do they serve alcohol?

No. It is a dry property. They serve mocktails and tea. You can usually consume your own alcohol in your room discreetly.

Is it safe at night?

Yes. Dar El Bacha is one of the safest, most upscale districts in the Medina. The alley to the riad is well-lit and near a royal palace.

Is there a gym?

No. There is no fitness center on-site, despite what some third-party booking sites might claim.

Can I get a taxi to the door?

No. Taxis drop you at the entrance of the alley (Dar El Bacha gate), and you walk about 3-5 minutes to the door.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, a generous Moroccan breakfast (crepes, breads, eggs, juice) is included in the rate.

Mẹo Nội Tại

  • Ask for the 'cooking class' with the chef—it's an unadvertised gem where you shop in the souk and cook your own tagine.

  • The rooftop has a 'menzeh' (high viewing point) that offers one of the best sunset views of the Koutoubia mosque without the crowds.

  • Don't buy a SIM card at the airport; ask the manager Ali, he often helps guests get better deals or directs them to the official agency nearby.

5 điều cần biết trước khi bạn đi

  • 💡The electrics are a bit 'vintage'—outlets can be loose and lighting is moody (dim) rather than functional.

  • 💡The 'hammam' on-site is beautiful but smaller and simpler than the big luxury spas; book it for convenience, not for a 5-star resort experience.

  • 💡You will likely be woken up by the call to prayer at dawn, but that's part of the magic (or a nuisance, depending on your perspective).

  • 💡The Wi-Fi is surprisingly fast (200Mbps+) in common areas but can be spotty inside the thick-walled rooms.

  • 💡There are resident cats who own the place; if you are allergic, this is a hard no.
