Direct access to 160km of walking tracks including the iconic Tree Top Walk
Wild birds (Crimson Rosellas and King Parrots) that land directly on your head
The infinity pool with a view of the McPherson Ranges
快速了解: A legendary nature escape that feels magical if you look out the window, but a bit like a 1980s school camp if you look too closely at the carpet.
@Dyoung 的评论: I loved how peaceful it is here. The tree top walk was a bit of a climb but the view from the top is incredible. Definitely upgrade to a villa if you can for the private spa. It's not fancy, but it's the perfect place to just switch off and breathe.

The hype
The location is world-class and the wildlife is incredible, but the rooms are tired and the food is overpriced.
Reality check
You will hear everything: thin walls mean you'll hear neighbors, and the early morning hikers (and birds) will wake you up at dawn.
You are a birdwatcher or hiker who plans to be outside 90% of the time
You want a digital detox (limited cell reception and no TVs in standard rooms)
You are traveling with kids who love animals and waterfalls
清洁与维护
8.5
Housekeeping: Generally good daily service, though cleaners' trolleys can be noisy in the afternoons.
Bathroom hygiene: Clean but dated. Grout is scrubbed but old; some complaints of scalding water issues.
Maintenance: Showing its age. Peeling paint and worn carpets are common in the older Retreat rooms.
Linens & towels: Standard hotel quality—clean and crisp, but not luxury thread counts.
Odors & scents: Fresh mountain air outside; occasional musty/damp smell in older rooms due to rainforest humidity.

常见问题和隐藏提示
预订前您真正想了解的一切。
Is there a gym?
No. The 'gym' is 160km of hiking trails. There is no fitness center on-site.
Is there cell service?
Spotty at best. Telstra has some coverage, but other carriers struggle. Wi-Fi is available in common areas and most rooms but can be slow.
Can I bring my dog?
No. Since it is located inside a National Park, domestic pets are strictly prohibited.
Is the pool heated?
There are two pools. The infinity pool is unheated (cold in winter!), but there is a smaller plunge pool/spa that is heated.
Do the rooms have AC?
Villas DO have air conditioning. Standard Retreat rooms do NOT (fans only), but the mountain air usually keeps things cool.
Is parking free?
Yes, self-parking is free for guests, though it can get tight on busy weekends.

Skip the $70 buffet and order the wood-fired pizza at the Rainforest Bar—it's cheaper and often better.
✨
The 'Moonlight Crag' deck is the ultimate secret sunset spot; ask staff if the gate is open or book the sunset tour.
✨
Buy birdseed in town (Canungra) for a fraction of the price of the small bags sold at the gift shop.

💡The 'hot water' can be scaldingly hot in some bathrooms—test it before jumping in.
💡You might find a possum trying to break into your room if you leave the balcony door cracked.
💡The drive up isn't just winding; it's often single-lane with blind corners. Honk on turns.
💡The 'Stinson' rooms are historic but feel very much like a 1930s guesthouse (thin walls, creaky floors).
💡Leeches are a real thing on the trails after rain—salt or spray is your friend.
