Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas

$550-900+/ notte

Prenota se You want the full-blown Disney service bubble with a Hawaiian twist and don't mind waking up at 7am to fight for a pool chair.

Perché piace così tanto

  • World-class pool complex with lazy river, slides, and private snorkeling lagoon
  • Aunty's Beach House is arguably the best resort kids' club on the planet
  • No resort fees (a rarity in Hawaii) and free parking for DVC members on points

In sintesi: It’s a beautifully curated, overpriced theme park disguised as a relaxing resort where the 'relaxing' part requires strategic planning.

Recensito da @shezabel: I finally made it back to our home away from home! Walking into the studio and seeing that personalized 'Ohana' welcome on the screen never gets old. The view from the balcony was even better than I remembered—perfect for morning coffee while the kids slept on the pull-out.

The hype

Families are obsessed with the lazy river and character meets, but everyone complains about the food prices and the battle for shade.

Reality check

The 'heated' pools can feel freezing (low 70s) in winter months, especially the lazy river, despite staff claims of 82°F.

  • You are a die-hard Disney fan who wants Moana instead of Cinderella
  • You have kids under 12 who will spend 8 hours a day in the water
  • You are a DVC member using points (best value by far)

Pulizia e manutenzione

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Hit or miss. Cash guests get every-other-day service. DVC members get trash/towel on day 4. Complaints of overflowing trash are common.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally good, but recent reports of mold in grout lines, especially in accessible roll-in showers.
  • Maintenance: Grounds are immaculate. Rooms are showing age (scuffed furniture, peeling paint on lanais) before scheduled refurbs.
  • Linens & towels: Standard Disney quality—clean but not luxury plush. Pool towels are small; grab two.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells amazing (signature floral scent). Some older rooms have a faint musty/humid smell.

Prima di prenotare

Buono a sapersi

  • DVC members on points get free self-parking; cash guests pay $40/night.
  • There are NO resort fees, but 'Transient Accommodations Tax' applies to DVC point stays (approx $15-30/night).
  • You can walk to 'Monkeypod Kitchen' across the street for better food and happy hour prices.

Cosa portare

  • Refillable water bottles (stations are everywhere)
  • Cheap sand toys (resort charges a premium)
  • Wetsuits for kids if visiting Dec-March (pools can be chilly)

Genio delle camere

Migliori scelte

  • Island Garden View (Ewa Tower) - often grants a partial ocean view for a lower price
  • Ocean View (high floor) - expensive but the sunset views are unbeatable

Camere da evitare

  • Standard View rooms on low floors (often face the parking garage or conference center roof)
  • Rooms directly overlooking the Halawai Lawn if you need to sleep before 8:30 PM (Luau noise)

Genio delle richieste camera – copia e incolla

Requesting a high floor in the Ewa Tower. If booking Island Garden View, we'd love a room facing the ocean side for a potential partial view.

FAQ e consigli nascosti

Tutto ciò che vuoi davvero sapere prima di prenotare.

Is the character breakfast worth it?

Yes, for the photos. The food at Makahiki is decent buffet fare, but you're paying $50+ per adult for Mickey in a Hawaiian shirt.

Can I use the pool if I arrive early?

Yes, you can access the 'Luana Lounge' to change and use the pools before check-in (and after check-out).

Is the luau worth the money?

Ka Wa'a (on-site) has better food and storytelling. Paradise Cove (walking distance) has a better sunset beach setting but 'cheesier' vibes.

Do I need a rental car?

If you plan to leave the resort at all, yes. Ubers are expensive and unreliable in Kapolei. Parking is $40/night.

Are the pools heated?

Technically yes, but frequently complained about in winter (Dec-Mar). The Infinity Pool is usually the warmest; Lazy River can be cold.

How do I get a pool chair?

Go down by 7:45 AM. Staff clears towels left unattended for 1 hour, but in reality, it's a competitive sport.

Suggerimenti degli Insider

  • Walk past the Four Seasons to 'Secret Beach' (Lanikuhonua Beach) for empty sunset photos.

  • Buy the refillable resort mug ($22.99) at Ulu Cafe immediately if you drink coffee/soda; it pays for itself in 2 days.

  • The 'Menehune Adventure Trail' is a high-tech scavenger hunt included with your stay—pick up the tablet at the Community Hall.

5 cose da sapere prima di partire

  • 💡The birds at Ulu Cafe are aggressive thieves; never leave food unguarded.

  • 💡Standard View rooms can feel like staying in a parking garage—zero magic.

  • 💡You have to pay transient taxes on DVC point stays (it's not $0 at checkout).

  • 💡The 'Adults Only' pool often has kids passing through or noise bleeding over from the main pool.

  • 💡Housekeeping for cash guests is every other day, not daily (unless requested), and trash bins overflow quickly.
