Roomer

Mandarin Oriental Bodrum

$600-2000+/ Nacht

Buchen Sie dieses Hotel, wenn You want the St. Tropez of Turkey—a massive, see-and-be-seen hillside playground where the super-yachts dock and the rosé flows.

Warum Gäste es lieben

  • Two stunning private beaches (Blue Beach for vibes, Lucca Beach for quiet)
  • Rooms are massive—even 'standard' rooms have huge terraces and sea views
  • The 2,700 sqm spa is a destination in itself with world-class hammams

Kurzfassung: A spectacular, sprawling resort where you'll bleed money on $25 pak choi and wait 20 minutes for a noisy petrol buggy to take you to breakfast.

Bewertet von @yasminteimooriTouching down in Bodrum and heading straight to the Mandarin Oriental is my favorite ritual. The new Louis Vuitton beach setup is stunning, but my heart belongs to the private villa pool. It’s pricey, but the peace and service are on another level. Truly my happy place.

The hype

Guests are blown away by the sheer scale, the stunning Paradise Bay views, and the incredible spa, but often feel gouged by F&B prices.

Reality check

Service can be inconsistent for the price point—complaints range from 'terrible housekeeping' to 'arrogant staff' who prioritize regulars.

  • You love a 'scene' and dressing up for dinner
  • You want a room with a private pool (many suites have them)
  • You are traveling with a family (excellent kids' club and shallow family pool)

Sauberkeit & Instandhaltung

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Generally good, but recent reports of 'terrible housekeeping' and missed daily services exist.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Usually sparkling, but watch for mold in the grout of older rooms.
  • Maintenance: Some wear and tear visible (peeling paint, broken curtain rails reported).
  • Linens & towels: High quality, plush and plentiful.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells amazing (signature scent), but exhaust fumes from buggies can drift into lower rooms.

Vor der Buchung

Gut zu wissen

  • This hotel is in Turkey. If you are coming from Kos, you need a passport and a ferry ticket (20-30 mins).
  • Download WhatsApp—it's the primary way to communicate with your 'Ambassador' (butler).
  • The 'resort casual' dress code is taken seriously here; pack linen and loafers.

Was Sie einpacken sollten

  • Designer swimwear (it's a fashion show at the beach club)
  • High-voltage power adapter (Type F plugs)
  • Earplugs (for the buggy noise)

Zimmer-Genie

Beste Auswahl

  • Mandarin Junior Suite (huge terrace, often has a plunge pool)
  • Sea View Suites (worth the upgrade over Garden for the privacy and view)
  • Oriental Suite (comes with its own private hammam and sauna)

Zimmer, die Sie meiden sollten

  • Garden View rooms on lower floors (often have shared balconies with no visual separation)
  • Rooms near the main buggy paths (noisy engines all day)

Zimmerwunsch-Genie – kopieren & einfügen

I am a light sleeper and would appreciate a room on a higher floor, specifically away from the main buggy routes. Please ensure I am NOT assigned a room with a shared/connected balcony for privacy.

FAQ & Geheimtipps

Alles, was Sie vor der Buchung wirklich wissen möchten.

Is this hotel in Greece or Turkey?

Turkey. It is in Bodrum. The 'Kos' confusion comes because Kos is the nearest Greek island, visible from the coast and a short ferry ride away.

How much is the deposit?

Expect a heavy hold on your card upon check-in, often $500-1000/night to cover the expensive dining.

Is the beach sandy?

Yes, they have imported white sand for the private beaches, but the entrance to the sea can be pebbly in spots.

Can I walk to town?

No. You are isolated in Paradise Bay. You need a taxi (expensive) or car to get to Turkbuku or Yalikavak.

Is it kid-friendly?

Surprisingly, yes. There is a dedicated kids' pool, a Gymboree-run kids' club, and shallow water at the main beach.

Do I need a visa?

Most likely. Check Turkey's e-visa requirements before you fly. If arriving by ferry from Kos, port agents can sometimes assist.

Insider-Tipps

  • The 'Blue Beach' is the party beach; 'Lucca Beach' is the quiet one—choose your lounger accordingly.

  • Breakfast at Sofra is a massive spread, but if you want something specific (like an off-menu latte), be prepared to wait.

  • Don't pay for the hotel car transfer if you can avoid it; local taxis are fine but agree on the price in Lira beforehand.

5 Dinge, die Sie wissen sollten, bevor Sie losfahren

  • 💡The golf carts run on petrol, not electricity, meaning they are loud and smell of exhaust.

  • 💡You might find mold on the bread at breakfast (a specific recent guest complaint).

  • 💡The 'shared balcony' situation in some Garden Rooms kills the romance—you can see right into your neighbor's room.

  • 💡Prices for simple items are eye-watering: think €25 for a side of vegetables.

  • 💡Cats are everywhere (common in Turkey), including in the restaurants. Hygiene complaints have surfaced about this.
