Reality check
The proximity to Malé means you might hear occasional seaplanes taking off or commercial boat traffic, breaking the absolute silence.
- You are a surfer (beginner or pro) wanting luxury access to breaks
- You travel with kids and dread the extra seaplane leg after a long flight
- You prefer a lush, garden-heavy island over a stark sandbar

- Bathroom hygiene: Spotless. Deep soaking tubs are pristine. Rare complaints about 'yellowish' water are usually isolated incidents.
- Maintenance: Excellent, especially in the newly renovated Beach Villas. Water Villas are well-maintained but show 'classic' character.
- Linens & towels: Plush, high-thread-count linens. Beach towels are thick and replaced instantly.
- Odors & scents: Fresh sea breeze and lemongrass in the spa. No musty smells reported in renovated rooms.

Speedboat. It takes about 25-30 minutes from Malé International Airport and runs 24/7.
Are the rooms renovated?
Yes, the Beach Villas were completely renovated in July 2025 with a modern, airy look. Water Villas retain the classic thatched, darker wood style.
Can I surf here?
Yes, it's one of the best luxury surf resorts. The Tropicsurf school is on-site and breaks like Sultans are minutes away by boat.
Is there a house reef?
Yes, but it's better on the Sunrise side. The Sunset side is better for swimming (sandy bottom) but has less coral.
Is it kid-friendly?
Extremely. The 'Kuda Mas' Kids Club is excellent, and the short boat transfer makes it a favorite for parents.
How much is the transfer?
Expect to pay around $600 per adult roundtrip. It's a luxury transfer, not a public ferry.
