Waarom mensen ervan houden

8.01 beoordeling
  • Unbeatable location right across from Phayao Lake (Kwan Phayao)
  • Walking distance to the Naga Monument and night market
  • Spacious rooms with private balconies

Snel Overzicht: The location does the heavy lifting for this aging 3-star hotel that offers million-dollar lake views at a backpacker price.

Beoordeeld door @GillDay9484475: I came here needing a quiet escape and this room was exactly that. The interior is simple and clean, but the real magic happens when you slide open that balcony door. Sitting there watching the lake shimmer under the afternoon sun was my favorite part of the whole trip.

The hype

Travelers love the sunset views and free bikes, but consistently note the property feels tired and the breakfast is forgettable.

Reality check

The 'Lake View' rooms often require craning your neck from the balcony unless you splurge on the front-facing suites.

  • You plan to spend your evenings strolling the lake promenade
  • You want to walk to dinner rather than take a taxi
  • You are a morning person who wants to watch the monks and sunrise over the lake

Schoonmaak & Onderhoud

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is reliable and staff are friendly.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally clean grout and tiles, but watch for faint drain odors in older rooms.
  • Maintenance: Showing its age — expect scuffed furniture and some peeling paint on balconies.
  • Linens & towels: Clean and white, but towels can be on the thin/scratchy side.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells fresh; rooms are neutral unless you get a 'smoking' ghost of the past.

Voordat je boekt

Goed om te weten

  • Bicycles are free to borrow — grab one early to cycle the lake loop
  • No alcohol sold on-site, but plenty of shops nearby
  • The hotel is a popular venue for local government seminars, so the lobby can get crowded

Wat je mee moet nemen

  • Earplugs for the street noise
  • Mosquito repellent for the lakeside balcony
  • Universal travel adapter (outlets can be loose in older rooms)

Kamer Genie

Beste keuzes

  • VIP Suite (Front Lake View) for the only true panoramic view
  • High floor (5th or 6th) Deluxe Room for less noise and better side-views

Kamers om te vermijden

  • 3rd floor rooms near the street (view is blocked by electric poles)
  • Rooms directly above the event stage if a festival is in town

Kamer Aanvraag Genie – kopiëren en plakken

I am requesting a room on the highest possible floor (5th or 6th). Please ensure it is NOT facing the main street intersection to minimize traffic noise. If available, a room with an unobstructed side-view of the lake would be appreciated.
