Miksi ihmiset rakastuvat sitä

  • 2-minute walk from Termini Station (airport express & trains)
  • Mercato Centrale food hall is practically your pantry
  • Recently renovated 'Executive' rooms are surprisingly sleek

Pikakatsaus: A functional transit hub masquerading as a 4-star hotel—clean and convenient, but devoid of la dolce vita charm.

Arvioinut @simlavlifeI stayed at the Ariston and the contrast between the cozy bedroom and that wild orange bathroom was so cool. It felt super clean, and having a kettle to make tea while planning my route to the Colosseum was exactly what I needed. A solid, character-filled base for Rome.

The hype

Travelers love the proximity to the train station but consistently complain about the small, overheated rooms.

Reality check

The 'Standard' rooms feel like a different hotel compared to the 'Executive' ones—dated, cramped, and carpeted.

  • You are using Rome as a base for day trips (Florence, Naples)
  • You have heavy luggage and refuse to drag it over cobblestones
  • You just need a clean place to crash for 8 hours

Siisteys ja kunnossapito

8.2
  • Housekeeping: Daily and generally efficient, though they sometimes ignore DND signs.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Renovated bathrooms are spotless; older ones have grout issues and limescale.
  • Maintenance: Standard rooms show wear—scuffed walls, peeling wallpaper, and loose outlets.
  • Linens & towels: Clean and crisp, but towels can be on the thin/scratchy side.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells fresh; older carpeted rooms can have a lingering dust/musty scent.

  • Trams screeching on Via Turati
  • Ambulance sirens from nearby hospital
  • Thin walls between rooms (coughing/talking audible)

Ennen kuin varaat

Hyvä tietää

  • City tax is ~€7.50 per person/night, payable in cash upon arrival
  • Luggage storage is free and reliable if you arrive before check-in
  • The elevator is tiny—expect to wait or take the stairs

Mitä pakata

  • European power adapter (outlets are limited in older rooms)
  • Earplugs (non-negotiable for street-side rooms)
  • Slippers (carpets in standard rooms can feel worn)

Huone Genie

Parhaat valinnot

  • Executive Double (Renovated, hard floors, modern bath)
  • Internal Courtyard Room (Sacrifice the view for silence)

Huoneet, joita kannattaa välttää

  • Standard Rooms (Carpeted, dated decor, often smell musty)
  • Rooms ending in '01' or near the elevator (High foot traffic noise)

I am booking this stay specifically for the renovated Executive style. Please assign a room with hard flooring (no carpet) facing the internal courtyard to minimize street noise. I understand this may limit the view.

FAQ & Piilotut vinkit

Kaikki mitä haluat todella tietää ennen varaamista.

Is the neighborhood safe?

It's safe but gritty. The Termini area attracts loiterers and pickpockets. It's fine for walking to the station, but don't wander aimlessly down side streets at 2 AM.

Does the AC actually work?

Barely. It's a centralized system controlled by the front desk. You can't set a specific temperature, which leads to many complaints of rooms being too hot or too cold.

Is breakfast included?

Usually yes. It's a decent continental spread with eggs and bacon, but it gets repetitive if you stay more than 2 days.

Can I use the gym?

Technically yes, but it's small, has limited equipment, and is only open 9am-9pm.

How far is the Colosseum?

About a 20-minute walk or 2 metro stops (Line B from Termini).

Is there a pool?

No. Do not be fooled by old photos or third-party listings. There is no pool access for guests.

Sisäpiirin vinkit

  • Skip the hotel bar and walk 3 minutes to Mercato Centrale for world-class wine and snacks.

  • The 'Do Not Disturb' sign is often ignored by housekeeping; bolt your door if you're inside.

  • Ask for a room on the 4th floor or higher to slightly dampen the street noise.

5 asiaa, jotka sinun pitää tietää ennen matkaasi

  • 💡The 'view' from internal rooms is often just a dirty wall or a ventilation shaft.

  • 💡The shower stalls in Standard rooms are incredibly narrow—barely 2 feet wide.

  • 💡There is a persistent faint sewage smell in the lobby elevator on rainy days.

  • 💡You have to leave your physical key card at the desk every time you leave the hotel (old school).

  • 💡The 'double bed' is often just two twin beds pushed together that drift apart while you sleep.
