The concrete path to the offshore lagoon allows swimming even at low tide (rare for Zanzibar's east coast)
Three distinct pool areas (Masai, Bondeni, Main) help spread out the crowds
The 'Masai Village' dinners offer a surprisingly engaging cultural experience with traditional food and dance
快速了解: A grand old dame of Zanzibar that's showing her age—expect vast grounds and great pools, but also tired rooms, salty showers, and a buffet that won't win any Michelin stars.
@micatravl 的评论: I stayed in the Seafront Villa and it was a dream. Waking up in the loft to ocean views and having my own private pool made this the perfect romantic escape. The bathtub view is honestly the best part.

The hype
Guests love the pools and the staff's friendliness, but consistently note the rooms feel dated and the food is quantity-over-quality.
Reality check
The 'free Wi-Fi' is reliable in the lobby but often non-existent or spotty in the rooms, despite what the brochure says.
You prioritize pool variety and direct beach access over modern room decor
You are traveling with a family and need a resort with a kids' playground and designated quiet zones
You want an all-inclusive option where you don't have to leave the property
清洁与维护
8.5
Housekeeping: Generally diligent with daily cleaning and towel art, though they sometimes miss dust in corners.
Bathroom hygiene: Clean but aged. Grout is often discolored due to age, not dirt. Salty water leaves residue on fixtures.
Maintenance: The biggest weak point. Reports of peeling paint, loose outlets, and 'tired' furniture are common.
Linens & towels: Clean but worn. Don't expect plush, fluffy white towels; they are often thin from overuse.
Odors & scents: Mostly fresh ocean breeze, but some older Garden rooms have a lingering musty/damp smell.

须知事项
Infrastructure Tax: Expect to pay ~$5 per person per night at check-out (mandatory government fee).
The 'All-Inclusive' ends strictly at 11 AM on your checkout day; they will cut your wristband.
There is a dive center on-site (Wimbi Diving) which is highly rated for excursions.

Reef shoes: Essential for walking the tidal flats and the concrete path to the lagoon.
Strong conditioner/hair mask: The salty shower water will wreck your hair.
Power bank: Power cuts can happen, and outlets in older rooms may be loose.

最佳选择
Bondeni Pool Rooms (600-625): Located in a 'quiet zone' with its own pool and fitness center, far from the noisy main animation.
Masai Pool Rooms (101-128): Newer construction near the botanic garden, generally fresher than the Garden rooms.
Junior Suites (1-26): Beachfront or cliff-top views, offering the best ocean vistas.
需要避免的房间
Garden Rooms (especially 800 series): Furthest from the beach, most dated decor, and often feel 'tired'.
Rooms near the main restaurant/pool if you sleep before 11 PM (noise from evening shows).

“I am requesting a room in the 'Bondeni' section (rooms 600-625) for a quiet stay away from the main stage noise. If unavailable, a 'Masai Pool' room (100 series) is preferred. Please avoid the 800-series Garden rooms.”

预订前您真正想了解的一切。
Is the ocean swimmable?
Yes, but with a catch. At high tide, it's right at the hotel steps. At low tide, the water recedes hundreds of meters, but a unique concrete walkway allows you to walk out to a natural deep-water lagoon.
Is Wi-Fi free?
It is free in public areas (lobby, main bar) and generally reliable there. In rooms, it is often spotty, slow, or non-existent, despite some listings claiming otherwise.
How is the food?
Edible but uninspired. The main buffet is repetitive (heavy on pasta/rice). The à la carte 'Le Grand Bleu' (seafood) and 'Eatalian' (pizza) get better marks but may cost extra depending on your package.
Are there hidden fees?
Yes. The Zanzibar Infrastructure Tax is ~$5 per person/night. Also, lunch on your departure day is usually NOT included in the all-inclusive plan.
Is it a party hotel?
Not really. It has evening animation (music, shows) that can be loud, but it shuts down by 10:30-11:00 PM. It's more family-resort lively than club-lively.
Can I walk to other restaurants?
Yes. The famous 'The Rock' restaurant is about an 18-minute walk (or short boat ride). 'Kae Funk' and 'Baladin' are also reachable for a change of scenery.

✨
Walk to 'Kae Funk' at sunset for a much better vibe and cocktails than the hotel bar.
✨
Book the 'Masai Village' dinner at least once; it's touristy but the food is often fresher than the main buffet.
✨
If you have a late flight, negotiate a 'day room' rate in advance, or you'll be stuck in the lobby without food/drinks after 11 AM.
