Is the ocean swimmable?
Yes, but with a catch. At high tide, it's right at the hotel steps. At low tide, the water recedes hundreds of meters, but a unique concrete walkway allows you to walk out to a natural deep-water lagoon.
Is Wi-Fi free?
It is free in public areas (lobby, main bar) and generally reliable there. In rooms, it is often spotty, slow, or non-existent, despite some listings claiming otherwise.
How is the food?
Edible but uninspired. The main buffet is repetitive (heavy on pasta/rice). The à la carte 'Le Grand Bleu' (seafood) and 'Eatalian' (pizza) get better marks but may cost extra depending on your package.
Are there hidden fees?
Yes. The Zanzibar Infrastructure Tax is ~$5 per person/night. Also, lunch on your departure day is usually NOT included in the all-inclusive plan.
Is it a party hotel?
