Bloc Hotel Birmingham
Videotur av @riarockyexplores: I couldn't believe we snagged this stay for just £50! We even got upgraded to a massive apartment. The room felt super luxe, though the high-tech controls were a bit temperamental for us. Just keep your phone charged for the door keys and you'll love the value.

A candid review of Bloc Hotel Birmingham, highlighting the incredible value for money despite some technical hiccups. The experience begins with unique amenities like rentable umbrellas and self-serve coffee, before moving to the mobile-first check-in process. The creator shares a cautionary tale about the mobile key system, having been stranded in the courtyard after leaving their phone behind. The highlight of the stay was a surprise free upgrade to a spacious apartment room featuring a kitchenette, living area with sofa, and plush bedding. However, the review offers a balanced perspective by detailing issues with the in-room technology; a malfunctioning tablet meant no control over lighting, TV, or the climate, leading to a warm room. Despite these flaws, the verdict is overwhelmingly positive based on the £50 nightly rate, making it a top recommendation for budget-savvy travelers willing to overlook tech glitches for a luxury feel.

Umbrellas you can rent, which I didn't even know was a thing. And access to the room is also controlled by your phone. Be careful 'cause I definitely left my phone in the room and I got stranded in the courtyard, so just remember to have your phone at all times. Um, we actually stayed in the apartment. We got this as a free room upgrade, I don't even know how this happened but I was not complaining. It was a really nice luxe room, really plush. Only problems were this tech, guys, oh my gosh. You really need this remote in your room and it didn't work for us. So we had no access to the lights, or the TV, or the, um, climate as well, like it was really warm in our room. So that was defo a let down. But I kind of think it was just this room. So I'm prepared to let it go. For the price, fifty pounds a night, you cannot go wrong. That's enough from me, bye.
