Why People Love It

9.392 reviews
  • Incredible staff hospitality (Mouad and Salah are frequently named as legends)
  • Dead-silent location in a residential neighborhood, a rare find in the Medina
  • Rooftop terrace sunsets that feel private and exclusive

Quick Take: A beautiful, quiet labyrinth where the standard rooms are shoe-box tiny and the 'heated' pool is often just a chilly plunge.

Reviewed by @msjazzeeI felt like a queen staying here. The courtyard is even more stunning in person, and having breakfast by the pool was the perfect start to my days in Marrakesh. It’s quiet, intimate, and the tile work is just incredible. Highly recommend for a solo reset.

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Travelers adore the staff's genuine warmth and the pristine cleanliness, often calling it an 'oasis of calm'.

Reality check

The 'heated' indoor pool is more of a visual feature than a warm bath, and the hard beds are a common gripe for side-sleepers.

  • You prioritize silence and sleep quality over being right next to the Jemaa el-Fnaa
  • You appreciate hyper-clean, traditional Moroccan craftsmanship (zellij tiles, carved plaster)
  • You are a couple looking for a romantic, low-key hideaway

Cleanliness & Maintenance

9.6
  • Housekeeping: Immaculate. Daily service is thorough, often leaving fresh flowers or petals.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Spotless grout and tiles. No mold issues reported (rare for old Riads).
  • Maintenance: Excellent condition. Fresh paint, well-oiled doors, no peeling plaster.
  • Linens & towels: Crisp, white, and high quality. Towels are fluffy and replaced daily.
  • Odors & scents: Signature orange blossom scent throughout. No musty old-building smells.

  • Internal courtyard echoes (guests talking in the lobby)
  • Morning call to prayer (inevitable in the Medina, but distant)

Before you book

Good to know

  • City tax is approx. 25-30 MAD (~$3) per person/night and is often payable in cash upon arrival.
  • Download an offline map (Google Maps or Maps.me) — the alleyways near Hart Soura are a maze.
  • Airport transfer via the hotel is worth the extra ~$20 to avoid getting lost on day one.

What to pack

  • Earplugs (for the call to prayer, just in case)
  • Slip-on shoes (customary to take shoes off in some carpeted areas)
  • Modest clothing for the walk to/from the Riad (it's a conservative residential area)

Room Genie

Best picks

  • Luxury Suite or Family Suite — essential for breathing room and floor space
  • Rooms on the upper floor for easier terrace access and less lobby noise

Rooms to avoid

  • Standard Double (12m²) — strictly for solo travelers or couples with backpacks only
  • Ground floor rooms if you are a light sleeper (courtyard noise travels up)

I am celebrating a special occasion and would love one of the upper-floor Suites for a bit more space and quiet. We are very excited for the Moroccan breakfast!

FAQ & Hidden tips

Everything you actually want to know before you book.

Is there a pool?

Yes, a small indoor plunge pool and a rooftop jacuzzi. Both are often reported as cold despite 'heated' claims.

Do they serve alcohol?

No. It is a dry Riad. You can consume your own duty-free alcohol in your room discreetly, but don't expect a bar.

How far is the main square?

Jemaa el-Fnaa is a 15-20 minute walk. It's a pleasant walk through the souks, but not 'right outside the door'.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, and it's excellent. Expect Moroccan pancakes (Msemen), fresh breads, homemade yogurt, eggs, and fresh orange juice.

Is the area safe at night?

Yes, Hart Soura is a quiet residential neighborhood. It is safe, but the alleys are dimly lit, so use a phone flashlight and stick to the main path.

Can a taxi drop me at the door?

No. Taxis drop you at Bab Taghzout (nearest gate). You must walk about 5-7 minutes to the Riad.

Insider Tips

  • Ask for dinner on the rooftop at least once — the tagines are often better than tourist restaurants nearby.

  • The 'spa' is small but the Hammam scrub is legit and cheaper than luxury spas outside.

  • There is a small shop nearby that stays open late for water and snacks (ask Mouad for directions).

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'Heated Pool' is basically room temperature at best.

  • 💡You have to pay ~€10 extra to use the rooftop jacuzzi.

  • 💡The standard rooms are so small the bathroom is sometimes just separated by a curtain or glass pane.

  • 💡The walk to the Riad passes through a very local, non-touristy market area (great for photos, intense for first-timers).

  • 💡They have an 'orange blossom' air freshener scent that guests love so much they buy bottles to take home.
