Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

8.92069 avis
  • Unbeatable price for on-site Universal benefits
  • Bright, beachy vibe that doesn't feel dingy
  • Shuttle system is shockingly efficient (better than Disney's)

En bref : It’s a glorified dorm room with a surfboard pool, but it saves you enough money to buy Express Pass.

Évalué par @helloendlesssummerI stayed here to save money for the parks, and honestly, I loved the vibe. The room was clean, bright, and that pool view was the perfect way to start the day. Definitely my go-to for a budget Universal trip.

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

Travelers love the clean, bright rooms and fast shuttles but consistently hate the noise levels.

Reality check

The '2-Bedroom Suite' is really just a standard room with a small extra bedroom partitioned off — don't expect a sprawling apartment.

  • You spend 12+ hours a day in the parks
  • You need to sleep 6 people on a budget
  • You prefer a bright, open cafeteria to a stuffy restaurant

Propreté et entretien

8.8
  • Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping is standard (a rarity these days). Staff is generally praised for efficiency.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Bathrooms are bright and tile-heavy, usually spotless. Grout is kept white.
  • Maintenance: Newer hotel (opened 2019), so wear and tear is minimal compared to older I-Drive spots.
  • Linens & towels: Sheets are clean but basic poly-blend. Towels are small, thin, and scratchy.
  • Odors & scents: Generally fresh, though some ground-floor rooms can smell faintly of pool chlorine or Florida humidity.

  • Paper-thin walls between rooms
  • Loud hallway acoustics (tile floors)
  • Connecting doors (sound leaks heavily)

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • Luggage storage is free if you arrive before check-in, but package delivery costs $5/box.
  • You can walk to Walgreens (across the street) for water and snacks to save money.
  • The shuttle drops you off right at the CityWalk security hub, bypassing the long parking garage walk.

Quoi emporter

  • High-quality earplugs or a white noise machine (non-negotiable)
  • Instant coffee or a travel kettle (if in a standard room)
  • Power strip (plenty of USBs, but outlets can be tight with 4 people)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Tower 1, High Floor (9th) for quickest shuttle access and less overhead noise
  • Tower 2, South side for easy walking access to I-Drive and Walgreens

Chambres à éviter

  • Rooms with connecting doors (unless you need them) — they are sound sieves
  • Ground floor rooms near the elevators (high foot traffic noise)

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I would appreciate a room on the highest possible floor (ideally 9th) to minimize overhead noise. If available, please assign a room WITHOUT a connecting door. We prefer Tower 1 for shuttle proximity.

FAQ et astuces cachées

Tout ce que vous voulez vraiment savoir avant de réserver.

Is there a resort fee?

No. Unlike many Orlando hotels, Universal value resorts do not charge a resort fee.

Does the shuttle cost money?

No, the shuttle is free, runs constantly (every 10-15 mins), and takes about 5-8 minutes to get to the parks.

Can I walk to the parks?

Technically yes, but it's a grim 25-30 minute walk along busy roads. The shuttle is much better.

Is there a free breakfast?

No. The Beach Break Cafe serves breakfast, but you pay for every item (cafeteria style).

Do the rooms have fridges and microwaves?

All rooms have mini-fridges. Only the 2-Bedroom Suites have microwaves.

Can I pool hop to other Universal hotels?

No. Surfside and Dockside guests cannot pool hop to the premier/preferred hotels (like Hard Rock or Portofino).

Conseils d'initiés

  • The 'picnic table' in the suites is the best workspace you'll find in a value hotel.

  • Tower 2 has a 'secret' back gate that opens directly onto International Drive near the Walgreens.

  • Pizza delivery to your room is available, but it's often faster to just go down to the cafeteria and buy a whole pie.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The towels are aggressively scratchy and thin — exfoliation included.

  • 💡Water pressure in the showers is surprisingly powerful, often better than luxury resorts.

  • 💡The 'surfboard' pool has no deep end (3ft deep mostly), making it basically a giant wading pool.

  • 💡There is no coffee maker in the standard rooms (yes, we said it twice, it's that annoying).

  • 💡The elevators in Tower 1 can get gridlocked at 8 AM; take the stairs if you're on a lower floor.
