The 'Royal' experience is dampened by maintenance issues like leaky showers, spiders in corners, and thin walls where you can hear your neighbors.

Rarely. The Ale House and Abbey Tavern usually close by late afternoon. You will need to drive into Ballarat for dinner.

No. Pets are not permitted in the accommodation or the castle grounds (assistance animals excepted).

It's free but spotty. The thick stone walls of the castle suites often block the signal.
