Why People Love It

8.1201 reviews
  • Prime location steps from Cathedral Primada of America
  • Beautiful 200-year-old courtyard and architecture
  • Free secure garage parking in a busy area

Quick Take: It's dripping with 19th-century charm, but the outdated bathrooms, peeling paint, and street noise will quickly remind you what century the plumbing is from.

Reviewed by @dgdvdI had the most amazing stay in this suite at Boutique Hotel Palacio. The massive private terrace was my absolute favorite spot to unwind, and soaking in the in-room jacuzzi felt so luxurious. It was the perfect romantic oasis right in the heart of Santo Domingo!

Cleanliness & Maintenance

6.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily cleaning is provided, but guests report missed spots, dirty bedside carpets, and occasional bugs.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Cramped and outdated; some reports of moldy ceilings, slow drains, and spotty hot water.
  • Maintenance: Showing its 200-year-old age with peeling paint, burnt-out bulbs, and occasional damp smells.
  • Linens & towels: Generally clean, but some guests have complained about receiving dirty or worn towels.
  • Odors & scents: The historic stone and tropical humidity mean some rooms have a noticeable musty or damp smell.
