Why People Love It

8.1437 reviews
  • Fresh from a $17M renovation (completed late 2023)
  • Walkable to the upscale City Center Bishop Ranch dining hub
  • The new M Club lounge offers a legit alternative to the pricey buffet

Quick Take: A sharp, freshly polished business hotel that suffers from one fatal flaw: it backs right up to the roaring I-680 freeway.

Reviewed by @emstateofmindI checked into the San Ramon Marriott for a quick reset and was genuinely impressed. The M Club lounge was perfect for catching up on emails, and my room had a lovely balcony. Ended the night with a killer martini at Bishop Grill. It’s the perfect spot for a local staycation.

The hype

Travelers love the 'like-new' feel of the renovated rooms and the friendly staff.

Reality check

Light sleepers consistently complain about highway noise penetrating the windows on the back side of the hotel.

  • You have Marriott Platinum status (the new M Club is excellent)
  • You want to walk to dinner instead of driving
  • You appreciate a gym that actually has modern equipment

Insider Tips

  • Skip the hotel breakfast and walk 5 minutes to City Center for better coffee at Philz or pastries at Miette.

  • The 'M Club' has an outdoor patio section that is often empty and peaceful in the evenings.

  • Ask for a 'Pure Wellness' room if you have allergies; they have air purifiers and hypoallergenic bedding.

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'concierge' level rooms don't always guarantee a better view, just lounge access.

  • 💡The walk to City Center is safe and lit, but involves crossing a fairly busy intersection.

  • 💡The hotel is a popular wedding venue on weekends, so the lobby bar can get rowdy.

  • 💡There is a hidden 'pet relief area' with bags near the south parking lot.

  • 💡The gym has a Peloton bike, but you need your own login.
