Roomer

다음의 경우 예약하세요 You want the ultimate 'Out of Africa' bragging rights: sleeping directly under the Milky Way with lions roaring in the distance.

사람들이 좋아하는 이유

  • The 'Star Beds' themselves: handcrafted four-posters on wheels that roll onto your private deck
  • Unfiltered immersion in nature—no walls, just mosquito nets between you and the wild
  • Hosting by local Samburu and Laikipia Maasai warriors who share deep cultural knowledge

한눈에 보기: It's glorified camping for the 1%, but the thrill of waking up to a sunrise over the Laikipia plains from your duvet is genuinely unmatched.

@JATINSURIENDRA4826840님의 리뷰I’ve never felt so small yet so connected. Sleeping in this Star Bed, with nothing but a mosquito net between me and the Kenyan night sky, was terrifyingly beautiful. The sounds of the wild lull you to sleep. It’s not just a hotel; it’s a core memory unlocked.

The hype

Reviewers universally describe the sunrise and stargazing as 'spiritual' and 'once-in-a-lifetime,' praising the warm hospitality of the Samburu hosts.

Reality check

It's not a hotel room—wind noise can be loud, and if it rains, staff have to rush in to wheel your bed back under the thatch roof.

  • You're an adventurous couple or family wanting a safari story that beats a standard lodge
  • You prioritize experiences and views over climate-controlled, sealed rooms
  • You are comfortable with rustic luxury (solar power, open-air bathrooms)

청결 & 유지관리

8.8
  • Housekeeping: Impeccable turn-down service; staff meticulously prepare the bed with hot water bottles and secure the nets.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Surprisingly spotless for an outdoor facility; polished wood, clean stone, and well-maintained fixtures.
  • Maintenance: Rustic chic. The wood is weathered but sturdy; thatch is well-kept. Don't expect marble, expect high-quality timber.
  • Linens & towels: High-thread-count luxury linens and heavy duvets (essential for the cold), kept fresh and dust-free.
  • Odors & scents: The smell of fresh air, dust, and sagebrush. No artificial fragrances, just the scent of the bush.

예약 전에

알아둘 사항

  • The camp is small (only 4 rooms), so communal dining is the norm.
  • Electricity is solar; you can charge devices in the main area or room, but don't bring a hair dryer.
  • Wifi is available in the main areas and sometimes reaches the rooms, but it's bush internet (slow).

준비물

  • Thermal layers/beanie: It drops to 50°F (10°C) at night and the wind chill is real.
  • Headlamp: Essential for navigating your platform at night.
  • Good binoculars: You can game view right from your bed.

객실 지니

최고의 선택

  • Kiboko Star Beds (Main Site): Renovated with solar-heated running water showers and flush toilets.
  • Family Unit: Features two double beds on separate platforms connected by a walkway—perfect for parents with teens.

피해야 할 객실

  • Koija Star Beds (unless you want extreme rustic): These are 8km away and often use bucket showers instead of plumbing.

객실 요청 지니 – 복사 & 붙여넣기

I would like to confirm a reservation at the Kiboko Star Beds site (not Koija) to ensure we have solar-heated running water. If available, a platform with a direct view of the waterhole would be ideal.

자주 묻는 질문 및 숨은 팁

예약하기 전에 실제로 알고 싶은 모든 것.

Is it safe to sleep outside?

Yes. The platforms are raised high off the ground, and Maasai warriors patrol the camp all night to keep wildlife at a safe distance.

What happens if it rains?

The beds are on wheels. If rain starts, you (or the attentive staff) simply roll the bed back under the thatched roof section of your platform.

Are there bathrooms?

Yes, each platform has an ensuite bathroom behind the thatched area. At the main Kiboko site, these have flush toilets and solar-heated showers.

Is there a pool?

Not at the Star Beds site itself. You can arrange a transfer to the nearby Loisaba Tented Camp to use their infinity pool.

How do I get there?

Fly from Nairobi (Wilson Airport) to Loisaba Airstrip (approx. 1 hour), followed by a 15-minute game drive transfer to the camp.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, but usually best for older kids (5+). The Family Star Bed is designed specifically for this, but toddlers might be a safety risk on the high platforms.

내부자 팁

  • Ask the staff to wake you up if a leopard or lion comes to the waterhole at night.

  • Combine your stay: Do 2 nights at the main Loisaba Tented Camp for luxury/pool, then 1 night at Star Beds for the experience.

  • The 'bush breakfast' is often served right on your deck—don't rush to the main area.

가기 전에 알아야 할 5가지

  • 💡The 'loo with a view' is literal—the bathroom is open-air, so you might be watching elephants while brushing your teeth.

  • 💡The wind can be intense; it's not just a gentle breeze, it can rattle the thatch.

  • 💡You are essentially on a stage; while private from other rooms, you are very visible to the wilderness.

  • 💡The 'black mosquito nets' are a genius design choice that allows you to see the stars clearly without the haze of white mesh.

  • 💡The wake-up call isn't a phone; it's a Maasai warrior bringing you coffee as the sun crests the horizon.
