Why People Love It

9.3293 reviews
  • The 'Ocean Front Pool Villas' are arguably the best value-for-luxury private pools in Samui
  • Breakfast at Moon restaurant includes free-flow sparkling wine and is consistently rated the best on the island
  • The 'back to nature' design uses massive granite boulders and teak wood to make you feel hidden in the jungle

Quick Take: A stunning cliffside labyrinth that prioritizes privacy and views over beach swimming and walkability.

Reviewed by @KcwanderI’m still dreaming about our stay at Silavadee. Waking up to that ocean view and having our own private infinity pool was unreal. If you want a honeymoon where you feel like the only two people on earth, this is it. Totally worth the splurge.

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Guests are obsessed with the private pool villas and the breakfast, often calling it the highlight of their Thailand trip.

Reality check

The isolation is real—you are stuck on the property unless you take the shuttle or a taxi, and the on-site food pricing reflects that captivity.

  • You are on a honeymoon and plan to spend 80% of your time in your room/pool
  • You love high-end rustic design (teak wood, natural fabrics, stone)
  • You want a breakfast spread that makes lunch unnecessary

Cleanliness & Maintenance

9.4
  • Housekeeping: Exceptional. Twice-daily service with turndown treats (local snacks).
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate. Terrazzo tubs are scrubbed daily; no signs of mold despite the humidity.
  • Maintenance: Generally excellent, though some wood decking shows wear from the sea air.
  • Linens & towels: Premium quality. Sheets are described as 'silky smooth' and towels are plush.
  • Odors & scents: Signature lemongrass and jasmine scent in the lobby; rooms smell fresh.

4-7.5MODERATE
7.5-10SILENT
  • Daytime construction/renovation noise (until May 2026)

  • Nature sounds (cicadas/frogs) which some find loud

Before you book

Good to know

  • The 'free' shuttle to Lamai/Chaweng runs on a schedule—book it early or pay for a taxi
  • Download the resort's app immediately; it's the fastest way to order a buggy or room service
  • The main pool (Sun Lounge) is open, but the beachside pool is closed for renovations until mid-2026

What to pack

  • Strong mosquito repellent (you are in a jungle on a rock)
  • Slip-on shoes for easy transition between room, buggy, and pool
  • Motion sickness bands if you get queasy on steep buggy rides

Room Genie

Best picks

  • Ocean Front Pool Villa Suite No. 3 (Exclusive, unobstructed views)
  • Villas 1, 3, and 4 (Prime oceanfront positioning)
  • Scenic Ocean View Pool Villas (High up, great views, but check for tree blockage)

Rooms to avoid

  • Scenic Ocean View Pool Villa No. 34 (View is reportedly blocked by trees/rocks)
  • Lower-tier Jacuzzi Deluxe rooms if you expect a view (often just look at a garden wall)

Room Request Genie – copy & paste

I am celebrating a special occasion and requesting a high-floor Scenic Ocean View Pool Villa. Please ensure I am NOT assigned Villa 34 or any unit with obstructed views from trees. If available, a villa on the southern side for better sunset light would be appreciated.

FAQ & Hidden tips

Everything you actually want to know before you book.

Is the beach swimmable?

Barely. It's very rocky and small ('Silavadee' means beautiful rock). Great for kayaking or a quick dip, but not for swimming laps.

Is the shuttle to town free?

Yes, there is a complimentary scheduled shuttle to Lamai and Chaweng, but seats are limited and it doesn't run 24/7.

Are the renovations disruptive?

Yes, until May 2026. The Height restaurant is closed and there is potential daytime noise. Rates are lower to compensate.

Can I walk to restaurants nearby?

Not really. The road is steep, dark, and lacks sidewalks. You will need a taxi or the shuttle to leave the resort.

Is it kid-friendly?

They allow kids and have a 'child stays free' policy for some ages, but the steep terrain and lack of a kids' club make it better suited for adults.

How much is the deposit?

Expect a hold of around THB 3,000-5,000 per night upon check-in.

Insider Tips

  • The 'Sun Lounge' offers a complimentary 'Sundowner Experience' with open bar from 16:30-17:30 during the renovation period.

  • You can order a 'floating breakfast' for your private pool, but book it 24 hours in advance.

  • The in-room amenities are Byredo (luxury brand)—don't bring your own shampoo.

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'Ocean View' from some lower rooms is actually a 'tiny sliver of blue through two trees' view.

  • 💡The buggies can take 15+ minutes to arrive during peak breakfast hours.

  • 💡The rocks on the private beach are extremely slippery; water shoes are a savior.

  • 💡Room service prices are nearly double what you'd pay in Lamai town, just 2km away.

  • 💡The air conditioning in the villas is powerful but can be noisy at night.
