The Fish Hotel

Book this if You want a 'back-to-nature' Cotswolds escape that feels more like a luxury summer camp than a stuffy manor house.

Why People Love It

9.3192 reviews
  • Quirky accommodation types like treehouses and shepherd's huts
  • Extremely dog-friendly with agility courses and wash stations
  • Relaxed 'Scandi-chic' vibe that ditches the dress code

Quick Take: It's an Instagrammer's dream with a steep price tag, but be prepared to walk up steep hills to get to your breakfast.

Reviewed by @wherejesstravelsI stayed in this Shepherd's Hut and it was the perfect romantic escape. Waking up under the skylight and soaking in the copper tub felt so indulgent. The private garden with the hot tub was my favorite spot to unwind. Highly recommend for couples!

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Guests love the whimsical design and peaceful setting, but often find the service slightly uncoordinated compared to the price.

Reality check

The 'rustic' charm means thin walls—you might hear your neighbor's dog howling or their TV through the wooden structures.

  • You are traveling with a dog (it's paradise for them)
  • You want privacy in a standalone hut or treehouse
  • You prefer burgers and seafood over white-glove French service

Cleanliness & Maintenance

9
  • Housekeeping: Generally excellent daily service. Occasional missed spots in remote huts.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Sparkling. High-end Temple Spa toiletries provided.
  • Maintenance: Grounds are immaculate. Some wear and tear on wooden decking.
  • Linens & towels: Fresh and high quality. Dog towels provided specifically for muddy paws.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh country air. Wood smoke smell in huts with log burners.

Room Genie

Best picks

  • Treehouses: The ultimate bucket-list stay, great for families (bunk beds available).
  • Hilly Huts: offer private hot tubs and incredible views.
  • Boaty McBoatface: A specific hut with its own private lake and paddle boat (adults only).

Rooms to avoid

  • Standard Rooms in The Stables if you want total silence (thin walls)
  • Treehouses during a heatwave (no opening windows)

Room Request Genie – copy & paste

I would love to request a room with a view of the Vale of Evesham. If booking a hut, please ensure it is one of the units with a hot tub. We are light sleepers, so a quiet corner away from the dog agility course would be appreciated.
