Classic luxury in central Taipei The Shangri-La brand has been synonymous with luxury hospitality for over 50 years, and the Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei itself has been in operation for over 30 years. That’s a long time to be at the top of your game, and yet the property absolutely delivers on every level, more than living up to the lofty standards of its parent brand.  It has the elegant public spaces and plush rooms & suites you would expect from a 5-star hotel, but where it really shines is its staff. They were incredibly professional and efficient when I had to liaise with them urgently at midnight the night before our arrival, when our flight out of Australia got cancelled.
