Por qué a la gente le encanta

9.4189 reseñas
  • Service is telepathic — staff anticipate needs without hovering
  • Villas with private pools offer total seclusion
  • The 'Touching Senses' program offers free cultural activities like sculpture and star gazing

Resumen rápido: It’s a walled garden of perfection that feels a bit like a movie set, but the beach is rocky and you're miles from any real nightlife.

Reseñado por @fluffytoweltravelI completely fell in love with the vibe here. The villa feels less like a hotel room and more like a private residence. My favorite part was definitely the flow between the bedroom and that gorgeous terrace—perfect for morning coffee with an ocean view.

Lo que dijeron los huéspedes que se hospedaron aquí

The hype

A sanctuary of calm with impeccable service and stunning grounds, though some feel the rooms are slightly dated.

Reality check

The 'ocean view' sometimes includes industrial ships on the horizon, and the beach isn't the endless powder-soft stretch you might expect from Mauritius.

  • You value privacy above all else
  • You hate fighting for pool chairs (there are plenty)
  • You want to eat exceptional food without leaving the property

Limpieza y Mantenimiento

9.7
  • Housekeeping: Ninja-like. Twice daily service, often timed perfectly while you're at breakfast.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate. Sunken marble tubs are spotless.
  • Maintenance: Excellent, though some exterior paint fades quickly in the salt air (constant touch-ups observed).
  • Linens & towels: Plush, high-thread-count, and replaced instantly.
  • Odors & scents: Scent of Ylang-Ylang and Frangipani everywhere. No mustiness.

Antes de reservar

Es bueno saberlo

  • Men need trousers and closed shoes for dinner at the main restaurant
  • The 'Touching Senses' activities (sculpture, painting, nature walks) are free — book them on arrival
  • Sunset is on the west coast, so golden hour is spectacular here

Qué llevar

  • Coral shoes/water shoes (essential for the rocky seabed)
  • Dress trousers for men (strict dinner dress code)
  • Binoculars (for birdwatching in the lush gardens)

Genio de Habitaciones

Mejores opciones

  • Luxury Villa with Private Pool — the upgrade from the Pavilion is worth it for the walled garden privacy
  • Royal Villa — for total isolation and uninterrupted sea views

Habitaciones a evitar

  • Pavilions near the southern edge if you want to avoid the Port Louis cargo ship sightlines
  • Garden View Pavilions near the reception if you want to avoid buggy traffic noise

Genio de Solicitud de Habitación – copiar y pegar

I am celebrating a special occasion and requesting a room that does NOT face the direction of Port Louis/cargo ships. We prefer a location deep in the gardens for maximum quiet, away from the main path.

Preguntas frecuentes y consejos ocultos

Todo lo que realmente quieres saber antes de reservar.

Is the beach good for swimming?

It's mixed. There are sandy man-made coves, but the natural seabed is rocky and shallow. Great for snorkeling, bad for barefoot wading.

Are the pools heated?

The private villa pools are heated. The main pools are generally comfortable but not bath-water warm in the winter months (May-Sept).

Is it kid-friendly?

Yes, there is a kids' club ('The Hub') and a family pool, but the vibe is overwhelmingly adult and quiet.

How far is the airport?

About 1 hour by car (60km). Transfers can cost $65-$100 USD one way.

Can I walk to restaurants?

No. You are in a gated enclave. You'll need a taxi to reach other dining spots.

Are there mosquitoes?

Yes, it's a lush tropical garden. The hotel fogs regularly, but bring repellent for dusk.

Consejos de Insiders

  • The 'Gunpowder Room' restaurant is only open select nights (usually Mon/Wed/Fri) — book this first.

  • You can request a 'star gazing' session on the beach for free.

  • The glass-bottom boat trip is complimentary and leaves from the boathouse — a must-do for non-divers.

5 cosas que debes saber antes de ir

  • 💡The view to the left is an industrial port, not endless ocean.

  • 💡The 'Luxury Pavilions' are essentially the same room as the Villas, just without the private walled garden/pool.

  • 💡Geckos are everywhere in the rooms — they eat the bugs, so make peace with them.

  • 💡Drinks prices are London/NYC level ($20+ for cocktails).

  • 💡The library is a hidden gem with rare books on Mauritian history.
