Beyond Resort Krabi

$100-180/ night

Book this if You are planning a trip for late 2026 or 2027 and want a quiet, family-friendly beach escape away from the chaos of Ao Nang.

Why People Love It

8.2298 reviews
  • Direct access to the quiet, uncrowded Klong Muang Beach
  • Massive 55-meter freeform infinity pool
  • Unique hexagonal 'Villa' rooms that feel immersed in nature

Quick Take: A formerly solid 4-star resort that is currently undergoing major surgery—do not book for stays before late 2026.

Reviewed by @VladLov: I stayed here for a week and the peace was unreal. The resort feels hidden away from the world, tucked right into the jungle. Waking up to that massive stretch of sand and the limestone cliffs in the distance was the highlight of my trip. Definitely request a sea-view room!

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Before the closure, guests loved the peaceful beach and pool but consistently noted the rooms were tired and in need of the very renovation they are now getting.

Reality check

The location is isolated—you are a 20-30 minute (expensive) taxi ride from the action in Ao Nang.

  • You want a resort where you never have to leave the property (once it reopens)
  • You prefer the sound of waves to the sound of bass-thumping bars
  • You are traveling with kids but want a vibe that isn't a chaotic waterpark

Cleanliness & Maintenance

7.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily and generally good, though sand is an eternal battle in beach villas.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Pre-renovation complaints focused on limescale, worn grout, and weak water pressure.
  • Maintenance: The primary reason for the current closure. Expect peeling paint and worn wood if you visit before late 2026.
  • Linens & towels: Standard 4-star quality, occasionally worn edges reported.
  • Odors & scents: Generally fresh, with occasional mustiness in ground-floor rooms during rainy season.

Sleepability™

8SILENT
SILENT
0-4LOUD
4-7.5MODERATE
7.5-10SILENT
  • Long-tail boats passing nearby during the day
  • Cicadas and jungle sounds at night
  • Construction noise (currently the #1 issue if you somehow manage to book)

Before you book

Good to know

  • This is NOT an adults-only resort (unlike some other 'Beyond' properties); kids are welcome.
  • The shuttle to Ao Nang is not free; expect to pay ~150-200 THB per person.
  • There are no elevators to the Villa rooms or some upper floors—lots of stairs.

What to pack

  • Mosquito repellent (lots of greenery means lots of bugs)
  • Reef-safe sunscreen (you are right on the Andaman Sea)
  • Thai Baht cash (taxis and local beach bars often don't take cards)

Room Genie

Best picks

  • Villa Premier Sea View (closest to the beach, hexagonal shape)
  • Deluxe Sea View (upper floors for better privacy and views)

Rooms to avoid

  • Garden Villas near the road (potential traffic noise)
  • Ground floor Deluxe rooms (less privacy on the balcony)

I am looking forward to seeing the renovated property. If possible, I would love a room on an upper floor in the Deluxe wing for privacy, or a Villa that is set back from the main walkway.

FAQ & Hidden tips

Everything you actually want to know before you book.

Is the hotel open right now?

Likely not fully. Major renovations are scheduled until September 30, 2026. Check directly before even thinking about booking.

Is it adults only?

No. While quiet, it is family-friendly with a kids' pool and free stays for children under 12 using existing bedding.

How far is Ao Nang?

About 20-30 minutes by car. It's not walkable.

Is the beach private?

Technically public (all Thai beaches are), but it feels private because of the location.

Is breakfast included?

Usually yes, but it's a buffet that gets mixed reviews for repetition.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Yes, a few good ones like Andalay and Sabai Ba are within walking distance along the beach.

Insider Tips

  • Walk left along the beach to find 'Sabai Ba Bar' for cheaper, better food than the hotel.

  • The 'Garden Villas' are often just as nice as Sea View but significantly cheaper—you're at the beach in 30 seconds anyway.

  • Don't book the hotel transfer from the airport; a Grab or local taxi is half the price.

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'Sea View' from some ground floor rooms is mostly a 'Bush View'.

  • 💡The tide at Klong Muang is dramatic; at low tide, the beach becomes a rocky mudflat.

  • 💡The hotel was built in 2012 and was showing its age heavily before this renovation.

  • 💡There is a 7-Eleven within walking distance (rare for secluded resorts), which is a lifesaver for snacks.

  • 💡Monkeys sometimes roam the grounds—keep your balcony door locked.
