Why People Love It

8.81851 reviews
  • Stunning Scandi-meets-industrial design by Space Copenhagen
  • Incredible connectivity: 6 minutes to St Pancras via Javelin train
  • The new wood-fired Japanese restaurant, Kokin, on the 7th floor

Quick Take: A high-design tower in the Olympic Park that feels like a destination, provided you don't mind the commute to Soho.

Reviewed by @meetcutelondonI checked into The Stratford for a much-needed solo staycation. Waking up to that breakfast spread in bed was absolute heaven, and the whole hotel has this gorgeous industrial-chic vibe that feels super high-end but cozy. Definitely my new London hideaway.

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Travelers love the 'New York' vibe and the epic views, but often find the room lighting too dim for practical use.

Reality check

The 'Mezzanine' bar can turn into a club with DJs until late; lower floor rooms might feel the bass.

  • You are attending an event at the ABBA Arena or London Stadium
  • You appreciate high-end design (Space Copenhagen interiors)
  • You want luxury amenities (gym, concierge) at a mid-range price

Cleanliness & Maintenance

8.8
  • Housekeeping: Generally reliable daily service, though occasional reports of missed days or 'dusty fans'.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Stone bathrooms are usually immaculate; grout lines are clean.
  • Maintenance: Modern building (2019), so wear is minimal, but watch for blocked drains or lukewarm water peaks.
  • Linens & towels: High quality, crisp white linens and plush towels.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells expensive (custom scent); rooms are neutral/fresh.

Sleepability™

SILENT
0-4LOUD
4-7.5MODERATE
7.5-10SILENT
  • Mezzanine bar DJ bass (evenings)
  • Corridor noise/lifts
  • Faint rumble from nearby trains (if on very low floors)

Before you book

Good to know

  • The hotel is at 'Stratford International' (DLR/Javelin), not the main 'Stratford' tube station—they are a 5-min walk apart through the mall.
  • Breakfast is not always included; check your rate carefully.
  • The 'Stratford Hoodie' in your room is for sale, not a gift.

What to pack

  • A portable makeup mirror (lighting is notoriously dim)
  • Swimsuit? No—leave it, there is no pool access.
  • Earplugs if you plan to sleep before midnight on a weekend

Room Genie

Best picks

  • High floors (5-6) for better views and less bar noise
  • Stratford Studio for floor-to-ceiling dual-aspect windows
  • Double Double rooms if traveling with family (rare in London)

Rooms to avoid

  • Rooms near the elevators (noise bleed)
  • 1st or 2nd floor rooms directly above the Mezzanine bar if you sleep early

I'd love a room on the highest possible floor (5th or 6th) facing away from the elevators. If possible, a view towards the Olympic Park rather than the Westfield loading bay would be amazing.

FAQ & Hidden tips

Everything you actually want to know before you book.

Is there a pool?

No. The building has a pool, but it is strictly for residents of the Manhattan Loft Gardens apartments, not hotel guests.

How far is it from Central London?

Surprisingly close. The high-speed 'Javelin' train gets you to St Pancras International in exactly 6 minutes.

Is the area safe at night?

Generally yes, it's a busy, well-lit regenerated area (Olympic Park), but the walk through the shopping center car parks can feel sterile and lonely late at night.

What happened to Allegra restaurant?

Allegra closed in August 2024. It has been replaced by Kokin, a high-end wood-fired Japanese restaurant.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, it's pet-friendly. There is a £50 fee per stay, and they provide a bed and bowl.

Is there a gym?

Yes, a very good one. Open 24/7 with Technogym equipment, much better than a standard hotel gym.

Insider Tips

  • The 7th-floor terrace (part of Kokin) is a hidden gem for a sunset drink, even if you aren't dining.

  • Ask for a room with a bathtub; the stone bathrooms are a highlight but not all have tubs.

  • Use the 'Stratford International' entrance to avoid the chaos of the main Westfield mall crowds.

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'service charge' of 3% is applied to your room rate, not just food.

  • 💡The elevators can be confusing—some go to the residences, some to the hotel.

  • 💡The 'Manhattan Studio' is basically a penthouse but often priced competitively compared to central London suites.

  • 💡You can buy the custom-scented toiletries (Jo Loves) and the hoodie, but they are pricey.

  • 💡The view from some rooms is just the Westfield car park/loading bay—request 'Park View'.
