  • Iconic 700-acre property where elk graze right outside your cabin
  • Heated outdoor pool that stays open year-round (even in -30°C)
  • World-class golf course restored after the 2024 wildfire

En bref : It's a legendary summer camp for adults that is currently a construction zone recovering from a major wildfire.

Évalué par @jessyka_hagenI stayed in the Whistler Signature Cabin and it was the ultimate winter cozy vibe. The kids loved the s'mores kit by the fire, and I was obsessed with the floor-to-ceiling lake views. It felt like our own private luxury home in the snow.

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

The setting is unbeatable and the staff are resilient heroes, but the tired rooms don't always match the luxury price tag.

Reality check

You might be paying $500+ a night to stay in a room that feels like a 'fancy motel' with thin walls and dated bathrooms.

  • You prioritize outdoor access (hiking, skating, golf) over indoor luxury
  • You want a pet-friendly resort where dogs are treated like royalty
  • You are fascinated by the 'Dark Sky Preserve' stargazing opportunities

Propreté et entretien

7.5
  • Housekeeping: Generally solid daily service, though staffing shortages post-fire can cause delays.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Hit or miss. Renovated bathrooms are pristine; older ones have grout issues and dated fixtures.
  • Maintenance: Struggling. Complaints about peeling paint, broken fans, and worn carpets in non-renovated rooms.
  • Linens & towels: Typical Fairmont quality—crisp and clean, though some towels show age.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh mountain air outside; some older cabins have a lingering musty/woodsmoke smell.

  • Train whistles echoing in the valley

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • Check-in is currently at the Golf Clubhouse, not the Main Lodge.
  • Shuttles run 24/7 to help you get around the massive 700-acre property.
  • Dining reservations are essential as venue capacity is reduced during reno.

Quoi emporter

  • Slip-on boots/shoes (you will be walking outside to get anywhere)
  • Swimsuit (the heated outdoor pool is the highlight, winter or summer)
  • High-quality moisturizer (the dry mountain air is brutal)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Ridgeline Cabins (luxury, spacious, away from main construction)
  • Athabasca Cabin (honeymoon favorite, secluded)
  • Junior Lakeview Suites (if renovated—ask specifically)

Chambres à éviter

  • Main Lodge Rooms (ground zero for renovation noise)
  • Standard Fairmont Rooms (often the most dated/motel-like)
  • Cabins near the engineering/maintenance sheds (fire damage cleanup areas)

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I am aware of the renovations. Please assign a cabin as far as possible from the Main Lodge construction zone to minimize daytime noise. If available, I would prefer a unit with a renovated bathroom.

Yes, the heated outdoor pool and health club are open daily (7am-9pm), though access routes may change.

Conseils d'initiés

  • The 'Dark Sky' festival in October is world-famous; book months in advance.

  • You can rent skates and cross-country skis directly on the property in winter.

  • Ask for a 'FireSmart' tour to learn how the property defended itself against the wildfire.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The walk from your cabin to the pool can be freezing in winter—bring a parka for the robe walk.

  • 💡Elk are aggressive during calving (spring) and rutting (fall)—give them wide berth.

  • 💡The 'standard' rooms can feel surprisingly small and basic for the price point.

  • 💡You might see burnt trees and recovery operations on the drive in.

  • 💡The tap water is glacial and tastes better than bottled water.
