$600-1100/ nuit

Réservez si You want to disconnect from the world in a rustic-luxe bungalow where the only playlist is crashing waves and roosters.

Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

8.6216 avis
  • The incredible sense of isolation at the end of the Road to Hana
  • Spacious ocean-view bungalows with massive lanais
  • The 'Wellness Pool'—an infinity edge overlooking the Pacific that feels like the edge of the earth

En bref : It’s a glorious, overpriced time capsule of 'Old Hawaii' where you pay a premium to have no TV, spotty Wi-Fi, and roosters as your alarm clock.

Évalué par @ScottsdaleTravelChickI finally made it to Hana and the drive was 100% worth it. This place feels like the edge of the world. Waking up to just the sound of palm trees and the ocean was exactly the reset I needed. If you want real peace, this is it.

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

Reviewers are torn between the magical, peaceful location and the feeling that the rooms are tired and overpriced for what you get.

Reality check

Guests consistently complain about the lack of a hot tub at the main pool and the 'dated' furniture in the non-renovated rooms.

  • You want to unplug (literally—no TVs)
  • You love falling asleep to the sound of the ocean
  • You are doing the Road to Hana and refuse to rush back the same day

Propreté et entretien

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Generally thorough, but expect missed spiderwebs on the lanai due to the environment.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Clean, but older grout and fixtures in non-renovated rooms can look dingy.
  • Maintenance: A mixed bag. Bungalows are well-kept; Garden rooms show peeling paint and wear.
  • Linens & towels: High quality, crisp, and plentiful.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh rainforest air, occasionally damp/musty in older carpeted rooms.

  • Feral roosters (3 AM start time)
  • Crashing ocean waves (loud but pleasant)
  • Thin walls in the Garden View buildings

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • The drive here takes 2.5-4 hours from the airport; do not attempt it in the dark.
  • The 'resort fee' includes shuttle service to Hamoa Beach, which is essential as the hotel has no direct beach access.
  • There is no communal hot tub at the pools; you have to pay for spa access or book a room with a private one.

Quoi emporter

  • High-quality earplugs (for the roosters)
  • Bug spray (mosquitoes are real here)
  • Snacks/Cup Noodles (for when everything closes at 5 PM)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Ocean View Bungalows (200 or 400 series) — these are separate from the main building, have AC, and offer the best privacy.
  • Deluxe Oceanfront Bungalow — closest to the water, massive decks.

Chambres à éviter

  • Garden View Rooms (especially near the road) — often lack AC, have less privacy, and suffer from road noise.
  • Any room identified as 'partial ocean view' in the main building if you want true seclusion.

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I am celebrating a special occasion and requesting an Ocean View Bungalow in the 200 or 400 series. AC is a medical necessity for us, so please ensure we are assigned a unit with functional air conditioning.

FAQ et astuces cachées

Tout ce que vous voulez vraiment savoir avant de réserver.

Is there air conditioning?

It's complicated. Most Ocean Bungalows now have split-system AC, but many Garden View rooms do not. You must verify at booking.

Is there a beach at the hotel?

No. The hotel is on a cliff. Hamoa Beach is a 10-minute shuttle ride away (free for guests).

Can I use Hyatt points here?

Yes, it is a Category 7 property. Award availability can be tricky but offers great value compared to cash rates.

Is the pool heated?

The Wellness Pool (infinity) is generally comfortable but can feel chilly on cloudy days. There is no hot tub at the pool deck.

Where can I eat dinner?

Your only reliable options are The Restaurant at Hana-Maui (on-site) or Hana Ranch Restaurant (across the street). Reservations are highly recommended.

Are there TVs in the rooms?

Generally, no. This is an intentional 'unplugged' experience. Bring an iPad if you must watch something.

Conseils d'initiés

  • The 'Wellness Pool' is often adults-only by vibe, even if not officially policy—it's dead silent.

  • Walk to the Hana Cultural Center nearby; it's a tiny, overlooked gem.

  • The hotel offers a 'flight' option from Kahului (OGG) to Hana Airport (HNM) on a small plane if you want to skip the drive.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The 'Garden View' rooms are basically a motel strip near the road, totally different from the bungalow experience.

  • 💡You have to take a golf cart or walk a fair distance to get from the bungalows to the lobby/restaurant.

  • 💡The spa is excellent but expensive; it's the only place with a hot tub you can use (if you book a treatment or pay a fee).

  • 💡Food prices are astronomical because of the remote location—expect $30+ for simple lunch entrees.

  • 💡It rains a lot. Like, a lot. That's why it's green.
