$350-750/ nuit

Réservez si You want the Victorian 'First Lady of Waikiki' nostalgia with a drink in hand under the banyan tree, and you don't mind sacrificing room size for location.

Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

8.4777 avis
  • Unbeatable center-cut Waikiki location
  • The iconic banyan tree courtyard bar is the best people-watching spot in Honolulu
  • Historic Victorian architecture stands out in a sea of concrete high-rises

En bref : A stunning historic museum piece where you pay five-star prices for three-star room sizes and a very loud street scene.

Évalué par @eatdrinkandbekerryI stayed in the new wing of the Moana Surfrider and honestly, the mix of history and modern comfort is perfect. The view of Diamond Head from my balcony was incredible, and having a huge bed plus my own Netflix made it hard to leave the room!

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

Guests are charmed by the lobby and location but shocked by the small rooms and noise levels in the historic wing.

Reality check

You are paying for the lobby, the tree, and the beach access; the actual rooms often feel cramped and dated unless you book the renovated Tower Wing.

  • You appreciate historic architecture over modern minimalism
  • You want to be in the absolute center of the action
  • You plan to spend your days at the beach bar or exploring, not in your room

Propreté et entretien

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is reliable, though sand is an eternal battle in carpeted rooms.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally spotless, but historic wing grout can look aged simply due to wear.
  • Maintenance: Tower Wing is fresh (2025 reno); Banyan Wing has creaky floors and occasional plumbing groans.
  • Linens & towels: Westin Heavenly Bed linens are crisp and high quality.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells of white tea (signature Westin scent); some historic rooms can smell faintly musty due to humidity.

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • The 'Tower Wing' was renovated in Summer 2025; these are the rooms you want.
  • There is no self-parking; valet is mandatory and expensive (~$65/night).
  • Beach chairs and umbrellas are NOT free; they are a third-party rental and cost $80-100/day.

Quoi emporter

  • High-quality earplugs or a white noise machine (essential for Banyan Wing)
  • Reef-safe sunscreen (Hawaii law requires it)
  • A reusable water bottle (refill stations are available)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Tower Wing Premier Ocean View (High Floor) – renovated in 2025, larger, better soundproofing, and actual lanais.
  • Diamond Wing Ocean Front – smaller rooms but quieter than the main street side.

Chambres à éviter

  • Banyan Wing City View – the noisiest rooms in Waikiki, facing the main drag.
  • Low floor rooms near the elevator in the Banyan Wing (noise bleed).

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I am requesting a room in the Tower Wing, ideally above the 15th floor, facing the ocean. We are light sleepers and would strictly like to avoid the Banyan Wing city-facing rooms due to street noise.

FAQ et astuces cachées

Tout ce que vous voulez vraiment savoir avant de réserver.

Is the resort fee worth it?

Hardly. It's ~$63/night for wifi, yoga classes, and 'cultural activities' you likely won't use.

Which wing is best?

Tower Wing for space and quiet; Banyan Wing for history (but noise); Diamond Wing for a middle ground.

Does the hotel have a private beach?

No beach in Hawaii is private. The hotel fronts a roped-off section of public Waikiki beach.

Can I hear the ocean from my room?

Only if you book an Ocean Front room. 'Ocean View' often means a slice of blue between buildings.

Is there a pool for kids?

There is one main pool. It is small, deep, and not particularly kid-friendly compared to the Sheraton next door.

How is the wifi?

Decent in the Tower Wing, can be spotty in the thick-walled historic Banyan Wing.

Conseils d'initiés

  • The rocking chairs on the second-floor veranda of the Banyan Wing are a secret quiet spot to watch the sunset away from the crowds.

  • You can use the resort credit (if included in your package) at the Surfrider Cafe for quick grab-and-go lunches.

  • Walk to the 'Steak Shack' on the beach (5 mins away) for a $15 steak plate that beats the $50 hotel entrees.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The elevators in the Banyan Wing are tiny, slow, and often have a line.

  • 💡The 'City View' is actually a 'Street Performer View' – you will hear drums and breakdancing music until 10pm.

  • 💡The bathrooms in the historic wing have almost no counter space; bring a hanging toiletry bag.

  • 💡You can hear your neighbors in the Banyan Wing; the doors have gaps at the bottom.

  • 💡The beach area directly in front of the hotel is extremely eroded; there is very little sand at high tide.
