The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort- Sha Extra Plus+

Réservez si You want a hyper-romantic, nature-immersed escape on the mainland that feels like an island, and you don't mind paying a premium for isolation.

Pourquoi les gens l'adorent

9.1422 avis
  • Stunning views of the Hong Islands from the beach
  • The Arundina's exceptional Thai food (with a menu by Chef David Thompson)
  • Signature outdoor sunken bathtubs in every room

En bref : A gorgeous, eco-chic sanctuary that is currently battling construction noise next door and charges island prices for a mainland location.

Évalué par @ettevi_wanderlustI found my slice of paradise at The Tubkaak. Waking up in the Haven Suite, sliding into my private pool for a floating breakfast, and watching the ocean from the jacuzzi was the reset I didn't know I needed. If you want aesthetic luxury and total privacy, this is it.

Ce que les clients qui ont séjourné ici ont dit

The hype

Guests are obsessed with the staff ('treated like family') and the lush jungle landscaping, but many feel the food pricing is aggressive.

Reality check

While most rooms are pristine, a few recent reports (July 2025) mention musty smells and mold issues in specific ground-floor units, likely due to the heavy vegetation and humidity.

  • You crave privacy and hate the chaos of Ao Nang
  • You love outdoor bathrooms and being surrounded by dense tropical flora
  • You are a foodie willing to pay $30+ for a curry if it's world-class

Propreté et entretien

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Generally excellent twice-daily service (turndown included).
  • Bathroom hygiene: Outdoor tubs are scrubbed well, but leaves/bugs appear instantly. Some recent reports of mold smell in ground floor rooms.
  • Maintenance: Wood-heavy design requires constant upkeep; some signs of wear on decks and outdoor furniture.
  • Linens & towels: High quality, fresh, and plentiful.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells of lemongrass; some rooms can smell musty if AC isn't running constantly.

  • Longtail boats passing in the distance

Avant de réserver

Bon à savoir

  • The beach has dramatic tides; at low tide, swimming is difficult (muddy flats), but great for crab spotting.
  • Shuttle to Ao Nang costs ~200 THB per person; a private taxi is ~800-900 THB.
  • No pets allowed.

Quoi emporter

  • Serious mosquito repellent (the 'eco' stuff provided isn't always enough)
  • Reef-safe sunscreen for Hong Island trips
  • Books/Kindle (this is a place to do nothing)

Génie des chambres

Meilleurs choix

  • Premier Pool Villa (best balance of privacy and space)
  • Seaview Suite (unbeatable ocean views, closer to the beach)

Chambres à éviter

  • Superior Rooms on the ground floor (lack privacy, people walk past your terrace)
  • Garden Rooms near the property edge (closest to construction noise)

Génie de demande de chambre – copier & coller

I am celebrating a special occasion and requesting a room as far as possible from the neighboring construction site. We prefer an upper-floor unit or a villa with maximum privacy, away from the main pool foot traffic.

FAQ et astuces cachées

Tout ce que vous voulez vraiment savoir avant de réserver.

Is this hotel on Ko Lanta?

No. The user prompt had a location error. The Tubkaak is on the Krabi mainland, north of Ao Nang.

Is the construction noise unbearable?

It varies. Daytime (9am-5pm) can be noisy if you are near the property line. Beachfront and central villas are quieter.

How expensive is the food?

Pricey for Thailand. Expect 600-1000+ THB per person for dinner. A Pad Thai might run 350-450 THB.

Can I walk to other restaurants?

Barely. There are a couple of other resorts nearby (like Phulay Bay) but local 'cheap eats' are a taxi ride away.

Is the pool private?

Pool Villas have private plunge pools. The main pool is shared and can get claimed by early risers.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, but it's not 'kid-focused'. No kids' club. It's very quiet and adult-oriented.

Conseils d'initiés

  • Walk north along the beach past the resort to find a quieter stretch of sand and a view of the local fishing pier.

  • The 'free' kayaks are first-come, first-served; go at high tide (check tide charts at reception).

  • Happy Hour at the Sundowner bar offers 2-for-1 drinks at sunset—essential for offsetting the high menu prices.

5 choses à savoir avant de partir

  • 💡The 'outdoor bathroom' concept means you might share your shower with a gecko or frog.

  • 💡The library is actually a fantastic, cool retreat with decent coffee if the room gets too claustrophobic.

  • 💡You can hike the 'Dragon Crest' (Ngon Nak) mountain trail directly from behind the resort—it's grueling but free.

  • 💡Breakfast coffee is excellent, but you have to order the specialty ones (cappuccino, latte) specifically; they aren't on the buffet.

  • 💡The 'Garden Rooms' can feel a bit dark due to the heavy tree cover.
