Veranda Resort Phuket, Autograph Collection

Book this if You want a stylish, secluded escape in a quieter part of Phuket and don't mind relying on Grab or a rental car to leave.

Why People Love It

  • Stunning 'Instagrammable' modern architecture with curved lines and pastel tones
  • Quiet, uncrowded location far from the chaos of Patong
  • Excellent 'Let's Relax' spa on-site with fair prices

Quick Take: A beautiful design hotel stranded in a sleepy neighborhood with a rocky, unswimmable beach and a public road splitting the resort in two.

Reviewed by @exploretheworldwithchloI spent my birthday at Veranda Resort Phuket and it was a dream. The staff surprised me with the cutest bed decor, and the ocean views from my balcony were insane. If you want a quiet, luxury spot away from the Patong chaos, this is it.

Guest Who Stayed Here Said

The hype

Guests love the aesthetics, the newness of the rooms, and the friendly staff, but feel trapped by the location and disappointed by the beach.

Reality check

Many 'Ocean View' rooms are actually across the street from the ocean, and the 'private beach' is more for looking at than swimming in.

  • You prioritize hotel design and aesthetics over beach quality
  • You plan to spend most of your time by the pool or in the spa
  • You have a rental car and want a quiet base to explore the south of the island

Cleanliness & Maintenance

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Generally thorough and daily, though some reports of missed balcony cleaning.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Modern and clean, but watch for intermittent drainage smells in some ground-floor rooms.
  • Maintenance: Brand new property (2024/25), so wear and tear is minimal, but construction dust can be an issue on one side.
  • Linens & towels: Fresh, high-thread-count linens typical of the Autograph Collection brand.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells of lemongrass, occasionally masking external drainage odors near the beach.

Sleepability™

MODERATE
0-4LOUD

  • Construction noise from the adjacent site (daytime)
  • Traffic noise for rooms facing the public road
  • Loud AC units in some guest rooms

Before you book

Good to know

  • Download the 'Grab' and 'Bolt' apps before arrival; taxis are expensive and hard to flag down here.
  • The on-site 'Let's Relax' spa is a chain but offers high quality at better rates than typical hotel spas.
  • A 5,000 THB deposit is required upon check-in.

What to pack

  • Reef shoes (essential if you attempt to enter the water due to sharp coral/rocks)
  • Strong mosquito repellent (lots of greenery and standing water nearby)
  • International driving permit (if you plan to rent a scooter/car, which is highly recommended here)

Room Genie

Best picks

  • Beachfront Pool Suite (for direct beach access without crossing the road)
  • Sky Pool Villa (for the best privacy and views, if you don't mind the hill)

Rooms to avoid

  • Rooms near the construction site (ask specifically to be away from the 'construction side')
  • Lower-floor 'Deluxe' rooms near the road (traffic noise and lack of privacy)

Room Request Genie – copy & paste

I am celebrating a special occasion and requesting a quiet room away from the public road and the neighboring construction site. Please ensure my room is NOT near the drainage area.

FAQ & Hidden tips

Everything you actually want to know before you book.

Is the beach swimmable?

Barely. It is very rocky, shallow, and tidal. You need reef shoes, and at low tide, it's just mud and rocks.

Is there a free shuttle to town?

No. There is no free shuttle. An airport transfer costs ~1,700 THB. You are on your own for transport.

Is it family friendly?

Moderately. There is a Kids' Club ('Bubblelonia') and a kids' pool, but the rocky beach and road crossing are not ideal for young children.

Can I walk to restaurants?

Sort of. There is a 7-Eleven about 10-15 minutes away via a hilly road, and 'The Cove' restaurant is a walk away at Ao Yon beach.

Is breakfast included?

Depends on your rate. If paying separately, it costs ~1,000 THB per adult.

Are pets allowed?

No, the resort has a strict no-pet policy.

Insider Tips

  • Walk 10-15 minutes to 'The Cove' at Ao Yon Beach for better food and a slightly better beach vibe than the hotel's own strip.

  • The 'Ocean View' rooms are often across the street; clarify if you are in the 'Hillside' or 'Beachfront' wing before accepting your key.

  • Happy Hour at the rooftop bar offers great sunset views over the bay—get there by 5:30 PM.

5 things to know before you go

  • 💡The 'smelly drain' issue: A public drainage pipe runs near the resort boundary, sometimes releasing sewage odors near the beach pool.

  • 💡The road crossing isn't just a path; it's a public road with local traffic that splits the lobby from the beach.

  • 💡Mosquitoes can be fierce on the balconies due to the lush tropical landscaping.

  • 💡The 'Ocean View' from some rooms is partially blocked by trees or power lines.

  • 💡Room service prices are significantly higher than local dining options, which are scarce.
