Arriving in Banff and settling into @canaltalodge was an unforgettable experience. The Brewster bus ride from Calgary to Banff was seamless, with comfortable seats and stunning views of snowy mountains along the way. We arrived around 2pm, just in time to appreciate the winter wonderland that Banff is known for. Canalta Lodge, located on Banff Ave, is just a short walk from the town center—about 10-15 minutes—but you can also hop on a nearby bus. I loved the stroll, even though some sidewalks were a little slippery in spots, especially the white stripes on the pedestrian crossings. The lodge itself was cozy, especially the lobby, where the smell of cinnamon and ginger cookies greeted us. We loved the hot tubs and fire pits in the backyard, along with the delightful complimentary s’mores—perfect for families. Our loft room was comfortable, with a lovely fireplace, king bed upstairs and the kids enjoyed the sofa bed downstairs. We also appreciated the daily buffet breakfast, simple but satisfying, and a great start to our day. The only hiccup during our stay was two toilet blockages, which were inconvenient but resolved quickly by the staff.
