Yes. It is often plagued by sargassum (seaweed), the water is brown/murky, and it smells of sulfur when the seaweed rots. Do not book for the beach.

Can I eat at the other Moon Palace resorts?
Yes. Staying at The Grand gives you full access to Sunrise and Nizuc. Guests at Sunrise/Nizuc cannot access The Grand without buying a day pass.
How bad is the timeshare presentation?
Brutal. They will promise resort credits, spa treatments, and tours. If you say yes, expect to lose half a day. A firm 'No, thank you' at check-in is your best defense.
