Haad Tian Beach Resort

Boek dit als You want a secluded 'Robinson Crusoe' vibe with a private beach and killer sunsets without paying luxury prices.

Waarom mensen ervan houden

  • Private beach (Haad Tian) with zero crowds
  • Stunning sunset views from the pool and restaurant
  • Rustic 'jungle' feel that is hard to find on the developed west coast

Snel Overzicht: A rough-around-the-edges gem that trades modern comforts and easy access for total seclusion and silence.

Beoordeeld door @WorldpitouI stayed here for a week and didn't want to leave. The villa felt like a private sanctuary, and waking up to that ocean view was surreal. If you need to unplug and just listen to the waves with a cold beer in hand, this is the place.

The hype

Guests love the pool and the view, but are divided on the service and the state of the rooms.

Reality check

You are paying for the location, not the maintenance — expect worn furniture, occasional ants, and a 'nature' experience.

  • You have a rented 4x4 or are a pro on a scooter
  • You want to read a book by a pool with no one else around
  • You prefer the sound of waves to the sound of bass

Schoonmaak & Onderhoud

6.3
  • Housekeeping: Inconsistent. Some guests report missed days or surface-level cleaning only.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Functional but aging. Expect worn grout, older fixtures, and occasional odors in fan rooms.
  • Maintenance: Rustic. Peeling paint, stiff door locks, and worn decking are common.
  • Linens & towels: Clean but basic. Don't expect high thread counts or plush robes.
  • Odors & scents: Generally fresh sea air, but mustiness can be an issue in older bungalows.

Voordat je boekt

Goed om te weten

  • The beach is rocky and shallow — great for wading/sunsets, bad for swimming (go to Haad Yao for swimming)
  • Wifi is often weak or non-existent in rooms; reliable only in the restaurant
  • Bring cash; card machines are temperamental and ATMs are a drive away

Wat je mee moet nemen

  • Strong mosquito repellent (jungle setting = bugs)
  • Flashlight for walking the resort paths at night
  • Reef shoes if you plan to wade in the water (coral/rocks)

Kamer Genie

Beste keuzes

  • Beachfront Deluxe Bungalow (AC) — worth the upgrade for the view and cooling
  • Poolside Bungalow — easier access if you don't want to climb as many stairs

Kamers om te vermijden

  • Standard Fan Bungalow — often described as hot, dark, and more prone to bugs
  • Rooms near the parking area — can get noise from arrivals/departures

I am looking for a quiet AC bungalow, preferably with an unobstructed sea view and away from the parking lot. Please ensure the mosquito net is fresh.

Veelgestelde vragen & Verborgen tips

Alles wat je eigenlijk wilt weten voordat je boekt.

Is this the resort near The Sanctuary?

No. That is on the East coast. This is on the West coast near Haad Yao.

Can I swim in the ocean here?

Not really. It's very shallow and rocky with coral. Great for looking at, bad for swimming. The pool is your best bet.

Is there a shuttle to town?

Taxis can be arranged but are expensive due to the difficult road. Renting a scooter is the most common way to get around.

Is breakfast included?

Usually yes, but it's a basic set menu (eggs, toast, fruit), not a lavish buffet.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Not within easy walking distance. You'll need to drive/ride 5-10 mins to Haad Yao for other options.

Is it suitable for kids?

The pool is nice, but the steep terrain, rocky beach, and lack of kid-centric amenities make it challenging for young children.

Tips van Insiders

  • Walk to the far end of the rocks at low tide for a secret sunset spot.

  • The on-site restaurant prices are higher than town; stock up on snacks/water before you head down the hill.

  • Ask for a room 'high up' if you want the best breeze and view, but be prepared for the climb.

5 dingen die je moet weten voordat je gaat

  • 💡The 'private road' is essentially a steep, rutted dirt track that washes out in rain.

  • 💡The resort dogs are friendly but can be noisy at night.

  • 💡You might find a gecko or two inside your room — they eat the mosquitoes, so let them be.

  • 💡The 'Beachfront' rooms are literally steps from the water, which is rare for this price point.

  • 💡Housekeeping is sometimes 'on request' rather than automatic daily service.
