Waarom mensen ervan houden

8.2806 beoordelingen
  • All-suite layout means significantly more square footage than standard SoBe shoeboxes
  • Legitimate art collection that rotates throughout the lobby and gardens
  • Zero-entry pool that feels like a backyard oasis rather than a Vegas day club

Snel Overzicht: A spacious, art-filled survivor of Old South Beach that's showing its age with scuffed furniture and construction noise next door.

Beoordeeld door @jeanpunzI stayed in this duplex suite at the Sagamore and it was perfect for our family trip. The split-level layout gave us so much space, and having the bedroom upstairs felt like a true escape from the busy living area downstairs.

The hype

Guests love the massive rooms and perfect location but consistently complain about the tired decor and noise.

Reality check

You aren't paying for luxury finishes; you're paying for square footage and beach access. Don't expect the Ritz (even though it's next door).

  • You need a separate living room for work or kids
  • You appreciate art more than brand-new carpet
  • You want to be walking distance to Lincoln Road but directly on the sand

Schoonmaak & Onderhoud

7.8
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is reliable, but they often miss dust on high shelves or under the sofa beds.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally clean, but expect older grout and occasional slow drains. No black mold reports, but 'tired' is the word.
  • Maintenance: The biggest weak point. Peeling paint, scuffed baseboards, and loose outlets are common complaints.
  • Linens & towels: Standard hotel grade. Clean, but not plush. Towels can feel a bit thin.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells like signature white tea scent; hallways can be musty/damp.

Voordat je boekt

Goed om te weten

  • Valet is the only on-site parking option and it's pricey ($45+)
  • The 'Resort Fee' covers beach chairs, but umbrellas are often an extra charge ($20-30)
  • No pets allowed, so leave the doodle at home

Wat je mee moet nemen

  • Earplugs for the construction noise
  • A portable steamer (irons are hit or miss)
  • Refillable water bottle (filtered stations in the gym)

Kamer Genie

Beste keuzes

  • Oceanfront Suites (high floors) for the view and distance from street noise
  • Garden Bungalows for a unique, private apartment feel (though ground floor can be damp)

Kamers om te vermijden

  • North-facing rooms (direct view/sound of construction)
  • Low floor rooms near the pool (bass from the DJ)

I would appreciate a high-floor Oceanfront Suite away from the north side construction. If that is not available, a quiet Garden Bungalow would be preferred over a pool-facing unit.

Veelgestelde vragen & Verborgen tips

Alles wat je eigenlijk wilt weten voordat je boekt.

Is the pool heated?

Yes, the zero-entry pool is heated, making it swimmable year-round.

Can I walk to Ocean Drive?

Yes, it's a short 5-10 minute walk south to the Art Deco district and Ocean Drive madness.

Is breakfast included?

No, and it's pricey. You're better off walking to a local diner or bakery.

Do the rooms have balconies?

Most suites do, but some 'city view' rooms just have windows. Request a balcony specifically.

Is it kid-friendly?

Surprisingly yes, due to the large suites and separate living areas, but the pool scene is definitely adult-leaning on weekends.

How bad is the construction noise?

It's significant on weekdays starting at 8 AM. If you plan to sleep in, request a south-facing room.

Tips van Insiders

  • Grab the complimentary bikes early (included in resort fee) to cruise the boardwalk before it gets crowded.

  • The 'Video Art Garden' is a surprisingly chill spot to escape the pool noise.

  • Walk next door to the Ritz-Carlton for a drink if you want a fancy vibe without the room rate.

5 dingen die je moet weten voordat je gaat

  • 💡The elevators can be agonizingly slow during peak times.

  • 💡The 'kitchenettes' in suites are often just a wet bar with a microwave—don't plan on cooking a feast.

  • 💡Hallways can smell a bit musty due to the humidity and carpet age.

  • 💡You might spot a photo shoot happening in the lobby (it's a popular backdrop).

  • 💡The beach service stops promptly at 5 PM, so don't expect a sunset setup.
