My trip to Punta Caliza on Isla Holbox was the perfect mix of design and relaxation. The hotel is famous for its incredible architecture, built almost entirely from red cedar, which creates these amazing geometric shadows everywhere. My room had direct access to the main pool, a triangular canal filled with emerald green water that floods the property. It felt so exclusive to just wake up and swim right out of my room. Beyond the hotel, Holbox is such a unique vibe because there are no cars, only sand streets. We spent our days walking barefoot, exploring the colorful street murals, and eating authentic tacos from local spots. The beach clubs are super chill, perfect for sipping cocktails and watching the sunset. At night, the town comes alive with live mariachi music and great dining. If you want a romantic getaway that feels stylish but unpretentious, this is the spot.
